you need to get USB Audio Recorder PRO from the Android Store. that should solve it.
First and foremost I want to thank all of you who replied to my inquiry, Crashem and others, for the solutions for running an Android into the Hugo. Finally I wound up using a tip from 7ryder, however with a twist.
I purchased USB Audio Player PRO from apparently the same software designer as the recording app. A few glitches initially during set up, but so far so good. Using the short white micro to micro adapter Chord included in the package.
The company offers a 20 min trial version of this software, so you guys with Androids, try it, you may like it. It has a good UI too. Remember to reset the security in your settings after downloading the free trial, for you need to disable for the download.
A FEW COMMENTS about my impressions for iPhone v Android's v DAP's playback quality.
1. There are no differences I can determine via the software. What do I know?
2. I can only relate the sonic impressions specifically to the hardware: iPhone 4, 5 and HTC1 and some other DAPs I heard, and this is it:
I am almost sure, and I welcome those experienced with running the tests or disagreements, that the commercial DAPs costing sometimes thousands are not better sounding driving external DACs such as the HUGO, than what is possible with cell phones and the better software available from the best APP designers. In fact I believe the very opposite: open solutions via the APP or Android stores, can provide better sounding solutions.
At least that has been my experience with with the new HTC1-M8 that has been receiving such glowing comments from Boy Genius, Forbes and the Wall Street Journal among others. Genius called it the best mobile phone ever made. It may be so, I don't know yet. I do know it has the latest and best processors and radio and so what does it all have to do with the music?
The number crunching I guess. Likely other design matters I cannot comment on. HTC says it is the best "music" phone. Others say, look, all HTC does is make phones, nothing else, no computers or accessories to, no dishwashers or cameras. They focus on making the best, so it is said. Hey, if that is true, all I have is the sound here (and a very beautifully-made mobile), and the sound using the software 7ryder suggested is truly a class above that I've heard via other mobiles or DAPs.
I enabled the first crossfeed setting on the Hugo - just right to my ears.
No, the system cannot be quite as good as my iMac with Fidelia + FHX, but it got the closest to it I've heard.
Again, thanks to all.
