Yes it will have a quick play mode that will let you play directly from the SD card inside Poly without requiring WiFi.

My poly this morning when powered on showed a red battery status, with mojo at blue. I assume this is again the “smart charger” issue with Anker chargers.

@Matt Bartlett can you tell us whether this can e fixed in software, or post a link to a few preferred chargers you guys use on amazon?

I use an Anker PowerPort 5 with Mojo/Poly which has 2.4A max outputs and all is ok but I normally only use 2 ports - 1 for Mojo/Poly the other for my iPhone.
The output on the Anker is 8A shared across all the ports. If you use all 5 at the same time then you can only get a maximum of 1.6A which isn't enough to charge Mojo/Poly at the same time.
If Poly doesn't 'see' enough charge current then it will prioritise charging Mojo first.

The smart charge will only be an issue when both products are fully charged and the load current is so low the port on the Anker may shut down.

I'm happy to hear this is working now!

Also, Matt has confirmed that gapless playback is supported over DLNA, so it should work in Glider as well. Please let me know if that's not the case and we can look to see if there's an issue on the Glider side.

I have a 60W Anker unit and had an Apple Watch, Poly and iPhone connected. For whatever reason poly was zero. Could it be it was "up all night" and when they reached 100% and stopped drawing power the Anker shirt down the ports and poly continued to drain? For the SW updates this would seem to be necessary (being awake)?

At any rate, the device does 12A and I had plenty of juice.... but this is a real problem.

"Advanced Charging Technology: PowerIQ and VoltageBoost combine to provide the fastest possible charge up to 2.4 amps per port or 12 amps overall (Does not support Qualcomm Quick Charge)."

    Hi Matt,
This is great news for me like me who will use it outdoor. Will it be able to play as hi-res file (higher bitrate?)

  9. JeremyLaurenson
It should match the functionality of MPD which has the best support of high res including high bitrate and DSD.

Not sure what you are asking here?
The power supply shuts down (to comply with environmental requirements) once it senses the load current dropping below a certain threshold. This is also a good thing for batteries, as it stops continually recharging the battery once it drops to say 95% capacity.
Each battery has a limit to how many charge cycles it can go through. I've had so many laptop batteries expire prematurely because of being plugged in all day and accepting multiple charge cycles.

I have 3 Samsung chargers that stop charging a Galaxy Tablet at 87%, no matter how long they are left on. They also shut down with Mojo or Poly. This means even if a device is plugged in while being used, the battery runs flat as the Samsung chargers don't wake up unless I physically unplug them or switch off and on at the wall.
The 2 Sony chargers I have, do not do this.

Personally, I can't see how a firmware update from Chord can change this as I know in my case that wouldn't change a thing with my Samsung chargers, and I don't know how it would alter your Anker. Even if it could, I wouldn't want it as I would prefer a longer life from the battery.

It takes my Poly 5minutes + to wake up from switch on of Mojo. Very poor. Do we know yet whether Chord can improve this?

Of course. Will try once more and let you know.

UPDATE: it seems to work without issue in Poly Hotspot mode. Will try again with Wifi later.

I guess it depends on what it takes to wake up the charger. If the cable needs to be unplugged and replugged, then no update can address it. But if the Poly just draws too little current for the charger to see the need to wake up, then perhaps Poly could trigger some sort of high draw activity when it reaches 25% for example, causing the charger to wake up.

Hi Joe. I can't seem to send a pm with Head-fi but I would like to try the Glider beta with my Poly. Thanks.
