Ok so a quick update for everyone.
The first of three firmware updates will happen next week.
I will post again when I know the exact day and also give instructions on how the update process works.
The first update will be as follows:

1. Communication Update

  1. Update to Manage Networks in Access Point Page
  2. MAC address, Bluetooth MAC Address and firmware version visible on Access point page
  3. Airplay improvements
  4. DLNA Operation on Certain routers resolved
  5. DLNA SD Card Database management and speedup of indexing
  6. MPD Update to support m4a and ALAC

We will then roll out the next update shortly afterwards:-

2. Audio Update to fix file playback issues and update Roon

Finally

3. Update to provide integration to GoFigure App, ( soon to be released )

Please bare with us whilst we continue to work and test these updates. We are working as quickly as we can and also taking onboard
your feedback to fix additional issues along the way.

Matt

It doesn't really sound like we are going to be in a position to use the GoFigure app as quickly as everyone was hoping (and we're led to believe)

Will the third firmware update and app be released by Christmas so that we can use our Polys as intended over the Christmas break?

So when the update becomes available it will be pushed out to polys if they are online? What if you dont want the update, your poly will be updated anyway?

If I'm not mistaken, the processing in any wireless headphone like that is bypassed when a wired connection is established. I know this was the case with the old Soul by Ludacris sl300's. When plugged in they had a weaker sound and were far harder to drive because the internal amp and everything was completely bypassed.

You are correct for many BT headphones. The 1000MK2 is a bit different. If you leave the electronics off the analog signal is passed through untouched. If you turn the headphones on then DSP is imposed. I have compared the two and the sound with DSP engaged is much better than passive. Sony did a nice job with the 1000MK2 and feeding it a Mojo generated signal makes it sound better, It;s a win-win.

That seems like a nice option to have. I did get a chance to demo those and the noise cancelation is pretty amazing.

Thank you Matt. I read in an earlier post that the app was with Apple. Is this not the case?

When do you think you will have this available in iOS and android

I just want to say how pleased I am with the response and involvement from @Matt Bartlett and @Mojo ideas here on the forum. It is my perception that the level of confusion has been greatly reduced by their counsel and direction. I hope to join the fray once my Poly arrives. I'm in the U.S. and waiting for the second batch of Poly's to be delivered to Moon Audio so I can then receive my unit. Have to admit I had moments where I thought should I cancel my order due to the confusion, but I'm glad I didn't and I thank all the Poly pioneers who ventured ahead of me and provided feedback to Matt and John.

@Matt Bartlett Thanks for the update on the coming firmware revisions. Unfortunately I am in the camp of struggling to boot Poly when turning on my Mojo (only purchased in July this year), I have been discussing this with Mitch via email and he informed me that this issue was being looked into as part of the firmware rollout. I didn't see you mention it in your post, could you confirm if this is the case please?

I can honestly say I'm loving the poly when it's up and running but the fact I can't currently turn it on when I'm out and about is infuriating. If this can't be fixed I think I'm going to have to admit defeat and return my unit. I would appreciate a definite answer on this as my return window is quickly closing.

Is there a consensus yet on what is the best iPhone app for SD card playback with Poly, or is that a stupid question? I’ve tried 8Player lite which works very well, but the interface takes a bit of adjusting to and, before paying for the full version, I wanted to see if there were better alternatives available. The video stuff on 8Player is superfluous to me and I’m looking for a music controller only.

I've tried four iPhone apps: 8Player, Glider, MPDluxe and Neutron. My thoughts, for what they're worth...

MPDluxe plays gapless over wifi, but doesn't work on the iPhone hotspot out and about.
Glider is nice - nicer and simpler than the others, but doesn't currently run on the iPhone hotspot. In my experience, it doesn't play gapless either, though I gather it should. I know Joe is working on both of these issues, and if they can be sorted, it will be my go-to app.
8Player doesn't play gapless, or at least I don't seem to be able to get it to do so.
Neutron - I just found it too cumbersome and complicated. I think others have had better experiences with it than I have.

Yes we are still pushing to release the app before Christmas ( hopefully much sooner ). Although we have split the update in to 3 this is to make it easier to roll it out rather than to indicate any timescales.

Yes the app is with Apple. Once this is tested and verified it will be released but I can't yet give timescales. The Android app
will follow shortly after.

I'm not sure why you wouldn't want to update your Poly to get the latest bug fixes, enhancements and allow it to work with the app. The first updates are essential but later on you will be able to choose via the app whether and when you want to update.
If updating really is a problem for you then I will investigate blocking individual Poly's from the server so they can't update. Just let me know.
