I have the JD7 and they're the best all-arounder I've tried under $100. I sold the oft-praised Hexa because I liked the JD7 better in all respects.

But I almost bit on the EA500 in the last sale. I'd sure like a chance to compare them.
Jd7 surpass many others DD around this price (maybe not ea500, i dont know): letshuoer d13, olina first gen, even the seekreal airship... The bass and lower mids are more controlled with jd7, more texture and less reverb (like olina double filter). Since january, its still my everyday carry over all my others hybrids or planar too.

Can somebody compare Fiio JD7 with this EA500?
JD7 and EA500 are very close. JD7 is true Harman-tuned. It is an all-arounder that is surprisingly technical at the price and would be my choice under $100 if you need a safer choice across all genres.

EA500 is pretty similar but takes more risks (being more mid-bass focused, being a little more energetic in the highs), that I think edge it a little higher than JD7.

But if the bass and highs are sticking points for you, JD7 is a more forgiving choice

Thanks @paulwasabii
I was considering buying the JD7s, but I see great enthusiasm for the EA500s, so I was curious if anyone has compared them.
I'm looking for something to replace the Olina SEs, which seem too stifled (bad airflow?) and without depth sounding to me. Or maybe I should check IE200?
IE200 doesn't hold a candle against Olina se in any way IMHO. Olina is better technically. The bass, mids, highs are just better in terms of quality.

I bought an EA500 and for me it was a good choice. I kept the Olin SE. The difference between the two is big enough to keep both models.
All in all, I heard enough mixed reviews (not public) to skip the Sennheisers (also relative to the higher models) even despite the potential listening opportunity.

Nice review, I like the No-nonsense style just saying what you hear, do you think Cayin RU7 would drive them ok?
The RU6 did a reasonabley decent job at 90% volume
