Overpriced ? No way , yeah there are many over priced daps. But the N8 gives you 3 daps in one and each one matches the totl daps that are out in the market. Yeah if you listen to tidal and such then dont go for the N8. Only go for the N8 for the best sound.
Think I'll be placing an order for a 6ii with A01 today. Tempted to hold off for E01 but I'm a SS guy through and through when done right, never warmed to tubes (no pun intended) unless very subtle on the pre side for liquidity.
What's everyone's current IEM's for synergy with n6ii? I'm mostly rock through and through, anything from clean punchy audioslave to ACDC with a bit of groove.
I like my separation / soundstage / imaging. Prefer reference and liquid over warm (muddied / thick) but not a fan of hyper analytical / fatigue. Good bottom end control is a must and have punch, nice timbre on the mids, be able to hear the snare snap and air on the top.
I use big class A with ladder DAC on main hifi which has immense control, imaging, timbre, prat but never fatigues. If I can find this in DAP/IEM I'll be a happ man at work.
Fire away with suggestions, budget up to circa 1k gbp give or take and will most likely buy used unless down at 3-500 level. Tempted to start out with cayins own but really seeking totl.
This is my absolute synergy
n6ii makes these neutral reference type of IEM sound very musical while keeping all high technical abilities, its superb level of details, separation and crystal treble ...
To me, the N6 is not as good as the Sony wm1a. especially about details. wm1a can be suitable for more music genres than N6. Although I enjoyed the design and screen of the N6 and the output power is really good

This is good to know as these are the two daps I am looking at getting later this year. The DX220 battery does not last long enough for me to consider it.

This is an IEM I haven't tried. I need to try them.
Here's my current rig. Null Audio Luna MKV and Custom Art FIBAE Black. Still tryIng to work out the right cable. I would be using the PW Audio No. 5 but the 2 pin connectors on the Black are to small for the connectors PW Audio uses.
Taken up the suggestion of FIBAE, black and harmony will be on the way soon enough for a demo, joined the waiting list for 7s. Thought I'd give black and harmony a run given it's zero commitment!
