I am fully in love with the N6ii. I've been using it excessively for a couple of months now. I even prefer it over the DX220, which I didn't think was possible in this price range. It seems to do everything at 11. Clarity is amazing. Dynamics/robustness is outrageous. Soundstage is enormous. There's warmth and airiness. It's like the absolute perfect tuning.
To my ears I still prefer the reference sound of DX229 which is paired up with Phantom and Eros II 8 wire. However, I am loving the N6ii/ Angie II/ PW#05 too.
Had a chance to listen to N6II today. I must admit that this is what I want as a companion to ifi audio idsd black label but for IEM. Absolute synergy with my S-EM6 V2, neutral reference type of IEM. They just sound amazing with the N6II.
On the other hand, I did not like the Cube. Particularly the way they tuned the bass. Too much for me and it is on the softer side, which is opposite to what micro and N6II produce in lows.
P.S. Balanced outputs only were used for the listening session on both DAPs.
Awesome to hear. Glad I sold the DX220 and Cube and will have the N6ii tomorrow. I’ve owned the ifi dsd black as well and yeh the low end on that one is super slamming but tight with a great soundstage.

I understand completely. I think the DX229 combo is utterly amazing, too. And it's clearly better for IEMs of a brighter, sharper disposition. Hell, I might even prefer Cayin's YB04 on the iBasso, just because I think it could use a chill pill.

Good to know Thankyou! Sounds like they need to make the newer chipsets less subtle? I have 64audio A18t’s and Sendy Aiva’s. do you know if these make a good match with the Cayin N6ii?
