The Solaris 2020, Azla SednaEarfit XELASTEC tips, WM1A running Midnight custom firmware and balanced DHC Clone Silver cable is to me the most realistic natural setup.

@JLasher22443, @Lookout57 is more of an expert than I am, but I will offer another opinion. I'm very pleased with the combo of my Solaris LE, balanced DHC clone fusion cable, and DX300. no hiss, wonderful stage, superbly warm yet balanced. it's also a lovely pairing.

I'd pair it with anything warm(ish)
We all have our prefs. I like it with MY dap of choice, the M8. I don't have the N6ii Ti yet to say if its better on that or not.
Oh, and silver cables are best for Solaris.

I'm noticing a lot of you saying to change the cables; will need to look into that a little more. I already have the Azla SednaEarfit XELASTEC tips coming in from reading over this entire thread before purchasing the CA Solaris LE's. Maybe I'll go ahead and pull the trigger on the cables since I don't have a bunch of music files; I normally just stream from Tidal or Qobuz Apps on my phone and Roon while at home. If I don't have tons of music files is a DAP really the way to go for me?

I also only stream (or listen to downloaded files from streaming services).
I personally prefer a device dedicated to music (versus using a dongle attached to my iPhone), but of course that is a personal preference. pros and cons to each, i suppose, no right answer...there are some very good USB DAC/AMPs available.

Ok so now I'm really showing how new I am to streaming; how do you download files from say Tidal or Qobuz? I know I can download Tidal tracks for Offline Mode but I thought that was only stored in the Application and I can't get that file onto say the WM1A or DX300?

Dx300 is an Andrpid DAP with Qobuz or Tidal app, so offline listening is available with download to external SD card. Wm1A has no Tidal app, only function as USB Dac

I am not sure about the WM1A, but with the DX300 you can choose to download the files to an external SD card OR internal storage (if that matters to you @JLasher22443)

So I have a question for the Solaris owners; what is a good portable DAC/Amp or DAP setup to use with these? I purchased the iFi Hip DAC to try out since it was under $200. Figured it would work well since its the #1 seller on almost all sites. And so far it sounds great with them. But I was looking at possibly picking up the Sony Walkman NW-WM1A but for that price am I better off just using a really nice portable DAC and my iPhone like say the Chord Hugo 2 or Mojo/Poly? Thanks in advance.
The Solaris is an extremely efficient set and it's not picky when pairing.
Here's the DAC Dongle thread...
