Pop off the driver ring and remove the fabric that is under the ring. That is completely referable as you can just put it back. That will be about the same as cutting out the fabric.

I believe he was asking about the fabric on the hm5 pads :)

Yes, I know that. The OP was concerned about a non-reversible action. I was proposing an option that may solve the treble issue and is completely reversible.

Currently reviewing the Wooaudio WA8 - guys, this is the best small amp/DAC I have ever heard with the T90- maybe even the best amp period - I am super surprised how well this little 1kg (2 pounds) things drives the T90 to such an extend. I could easily say bye bye to my BH Crack with Speedball - if I could afford the WA8 at the moment that is. It's really making the T90 sound absolutely brilliant. A match made in heaven.

The bass is beautiful layered and full - the highs are just perfect - I am really gobsmacked. Shame I have to return the WA8 tomorrow

Hi ...

this is an edition of my previous post, this thread is long enough to avoid useless parts

So, i tried to save a pair of drivers from a headphone damaged during a moving, those two drivers were still totally intact and in perfect condition ... just have to recabling them properly ...

I was desoldering them carefully, and find weird to have those little copper wires almost free, at the bottom of the PCB ... and touched them -> MISTAKE ! ... and a major one ...
Those wires are coming from the coil ... extremely fragile, they broke easily ...

So if you want to recable a T90, just be carefull about this, for the rest, there's nothing difficult ...

The difference between HD800 and T90 is really big. The HD800 is much more detailed than the T90 headphones with bigger soundstage and depth. The instrument separation on the HD800 is in another league.

Better have HD800 and T1 in the same tier.

Tesla drvers are much different from the HD800's ones with gasket-shaped diaphragm. I love the texture of music performed by Teslas but Senn's imaging and soundstage also lure me much.

Not my exprience at all, I've compared them from a Lehman BCL. Of course the HD800 wins in all technicalities except for bass body but to say it's much more detailed than the T90 is just being carried away by the enormous price gap between these two. HD800's biggest asset over the T90 is sheer soundstage size.

Same here, T90 already very detailed. In my opinion T1 is slightly more detailed than T90 and HD800 is a very slightly ahead of T1, so i think gap in terms of detail between these 3 headphones is very small... Soundstage on the other hand of HD800 is much more impressive than T1 and T90.

I agree that the differences are rather small. However having just compared my T90 with a HD800S I must admit - the HD800S wins in every category. There is some naturalness in the music that the T90 can't produce as well as the Senn - the good thing is - you don't realize if you don't A/B test them. The T90 with the proper amp is already amazingly good.

Having tested them I am very happy and content with my T90.

When I compared my DT990 to the T90, there was a significant difference, and I can't hear the difference between anything. When I then compared th T90 to the T1, I felt the difference in better detail from the T1 was as significant. The T90 is a great headphone. The T1 is better.

With the T90's new lower MAP price of $549, you should not expect it to battle with the awesome HD800S. The fact that it comes close enough to debate it at all is a testament to how good the T90 is. (And I am impartial, as a dealer for both Beyer and Sennheiser. Love 'em both!)
