Beyerdynamic T90 Discussion and Support Thread

Equipment can be smooth-sounding and yet make T90 harsh.  It's about how well the amp controls T90.

Having bought @punit T90 - I am today also purchasing @punit Bottlehead Crack. The T90 really shines more with better suited (not necessary more expensive) amps.

It works surprisingly well with my FiioE07K but looses a lot of it's soundstage and wideness. The Audioengine D3 is out of breath with the T90, the icon HDP is soso, the Asgard quite ok, the Valhalla already quite close to great, however the Bottlehead Crack just makes this headphone sing. Suddenly the bass wakes up and everything is just so much wider, impactful and you immediately forget that you wanted to o some critical listening and loose yourself in the music...

So a good and powerful amp really helps the T90 to shine.

Anybody tried the Beyerdynamic A200p with the T90?

Not that I want to use it on-the-go but just wondering if the A200p would be a good purchase since it's on m*** drop for a good price.

Cheers,
K

Will be trying the T90 with the new iBasso DX90 later this week. A little more than the A200p but is the whole DAP system which does lend itself to on-the-go usage.

Just got my T90 refurbished new. Running it with just my DX90 at the moment since i dont have my desktop amp n all that yet.

Needs to be on high gain and 190-200 volume to get listening volume.

Highs are definitely very sharp right now and I can see why people complain about it. Overall sound is quite fun though soundstage is smaller than expected for me from a open headphone. Im sure that'll change with better amping

Beyer's Tesla series seem to be a double edged sword. Some really like it and some do indeed hate it. I don't understand why Beyer engineers didn't prefer a more balanced sound signature.

Yea it does, that was the first thing i notice when I plugged it into my Little Dot MKII in compared to my NFB15.32 hp jack.

Isn't the T1 supposed to be more balanced?

I don't know, haven't heard it. Many say that T1s can't quite reach the level of HD800 though, in spite of being very expensive.

Neither does the T90 for sure, along with the rest of Beyer's lineup.  I think that's an ineffectual point, haha.

Maybe there will be a "lower-cost T1" version: T80.  T90 seems like DT990's successor while T70 is DT770's, I assume.  DT880's is then T1, or there will be a "T80" later around the price of T90 with a more balanced signature versus T90 and T70.

Hey guys. What are thoughts on build quality of the T90? It seems solidly built but the adjusting hinges scares me a tad bit...

To me I find the build quality to be very good, also little dot needs to hire some one to redo all their manuals, So confusion, I had to find a picture showing the gain setting I wanted to use. since the pcb had SW1 and 2 and the manually didn't make it clear enough.

The adjusting hinges are no different from the ones on the Premium DT770/880/990 as far as function, it seems to me.  I don't think it is anything to worry about.
It's still built like a tank.

+1 on built like a tank. I have a set of dt770 prems that are at least 9 years old, back when 250ohm were the only model variant, and it still looks brand new. Forks were the same then as they are now.
