Just received DT880s 600Ω with an E9.  These 880s are as comfortable as they are light.  This is my first set of nice headphones, very exciting.

Just paid for a used DT990/600 from a fellow head-fier.. eagerly awaiting it's arrival :)

Will be using it with my HTR before I could save some money for an Amp and DAC..

Thinking about modding DT 770/ pro 80, but i need a few suggestions.

1. Should i buy my own pair of Dt 770 Pro 80 and just send them in to Headphile to mod, or just buy from Headphile and have him mod?

2. What plug option to choose?

3. Are the extra option such as Wood CJC or black velour pads worth it?

thanks

Edit: Are these headphones worth having if mostly listen to hip hop? or should i just go with something like the Audio Techinca Pro 700 Mk2?

Doood get the darthss for real. V3 just have him do everything to save time. Pro 700s can wait another day if your a hip hop head. Do not walk, run, they are beasT

P.s. Just to add my two cents, BEST hip hop phone period.

After recently buying the DT 770 PRO 80 Ohm (fantastic build, so comfortable), and the DTX 101 iE Red earbuds from eBay. Last night impulse bought the DJX-1 Professional DJ headphones from Amazon. Since Tyle from InnnerFidelity was raving about them and they are sadly no more in production.

Man I've already become a beyerdynamic loyalist, in just two months.

I am a proud new owner of a pair of dt990/600 ohm.

Love the sound on these guys, but they feel a little heavy on my head. it just doesn't feel like there's enough cushion on the top. i'n coming from a pair of ad700s and i liked the headband mechanism on those a lot better. Any thoughts on possible mods or anything that I can do to make these for comfortable?

You find the DT990s heavy? It's the lightest most comfortable can I have actually...
Maybe try putting the headband more to the front or the back?
Enjoy it!

Comparison:

DT 931 vs DT911

DT931
++: absolut resolution, linear and trustworthy
++: classic, jazz --> wonderful

DT911
++: deep bassy, pressure (you know :) )
--: sometimes recessed
++: electronica, dubstep

Thats it :)

Just joined team Beyer with my DT990 (600 ohm) that just arrived. All I can say is, 'what took me so long?' That crystal-clear, razor-sharp treble is truly addicting. It's one of the only fun-oriented-sq headphones I actually enjoy.
