BeyerDynamic owners unite...

The M50 in-ear headphones correct? I really do not like in-ear headphones, in fact I detest them and the way they feel. I am wondering if i take a shot in the dark and get the "Darth Beyer" modification done to my headphones if it will improve them as much as I think it will, more meaty midrange, crisper highs and a bit more of a punch to the bass. I have some AKG K240s and I think that they sound ALMOST identical with the DT770s carrying more bass. Plugged into an IPOD they sounded like the same headphone on certain songs. The DT770s were a hella more comfortable. Im thinking of trying DT 990s though, what do you think?

Apparently the DT 990s are a more refined version of the DT 770s. The bass is much calmer, mids creamier and the treble is bright and can be over-bearing for some, I have not heard the,, but from what people tell me, im convinced it is a very decent headphone.

Not the way I hear them. As well from beyer...the DT770/600, DT880/600, DT990/600 were all top of the food chain cans (well before the T1s

).

DT770 = closed version
DT880 = semi open version
DT990 = open version

In terms of bass quantity, I would rank them: DT880<DT770<DT990

I love my bass more than you know

So would the DT 990s be a good choice? Right now the DT770s.....lets just let this icon describe it :

. I also enjoy the detail of the music out of them. People say senns and grados are for detail, I think the beyerdynamic really have a sound of their own, and detail to match.

If you like your bass, then the DT770/80s would be more in line. The DT990/600s are the bassiest of the three (DT770/600, DT880/600, DT990/600), but are not really basshead cans.

Guess I'll be joining Team Beyerdynamic now that I have both the T50p and the DT-770/600. The first is my portable, and are replacing my ATH-ESW9, due to their comfort and "faster" sound signature. The latter are my main closed back, and my back-up for my HE-5LE. They have less bass than the orthos, but have better highs, as well as the same level of details.

I have not heard the portables. I really am impressed with the 770 600ohm and of course the T1. Beyer has it all IM. Great bass very good mids and treble but most of all musical. Welcome and enjoy.

Frank,

What do you think of the T1? I won't be able to try it any time soon and I'm quite content with what I have at the moment - I'm just curious on your thoughts.

I know I'm not Frank, but for me, they are one of the absolute best I've ever heard. I give them a slight edge of the HD800s (very slight). Just takes beyer to a whole new level IMO.

I'm sure Frank will agree.
