BeyerDynamic owners unite...

I'm not sure the noise is normal, unless it's perhaps cable noise. Also, if you Google it, I'm pretty sure I saw a recabling guide for the DT880 but all the series are the same.

Does anybody know which DT series headphones share the same drivers?  I am particularly interested in the DT250-250 vs. DT880-250 (Pro).

I would like to know the same thing. I just got a pair of DT 770's and think they have the same driver as my old DT 880 but without the felt over the driver.

The DT 770's are more clear.

I'm pretty sure the different impedance versions of each series(880, 990 etc) share drivers. Either that, or I heard somewhere also that the 770, 880 and 990 ALL share the same drivers. I'm not quite sure.

Supposedly they share the same driver but there's slight differences with physical configuration
880s : Felt in front of driver and netting on driver back
770s : Ring of cotton, no felt
990s: none

Also 990s are open while 880s are specified as "semi-open"

That's what I thought. Thanks for the info.

Any comments specifically on the DT250?

Four weeks ago I sent in some Beyer T70s for repair, but have not got them back,
I understand they get shipped back to Germany for repair
How long is normal for repair and return of T70 headphones?

I recently purchased the DT 990 Premium 32 Ohm version. The sound stage is incredible, but I am finding that the mids are really being drowned out by the treble and bass. Does anyone have suggestions for how to EQ these so that the mids are not as drowned out?

Thank you.

I think what you do is, you take the DT990 back to the shop and say, 'May I swap these for a DT880, please?'  That should fix the mids.

get the DT880, and if you have an amp, go for the 600 ohms.
personally I found even the DT880 doesn't have enough mids for me,
but in compare to the DT990, DT880 is exactly what you want.

Are dt-770s really discontinued?
I'm looking for closed back cans for work. Running odac and o2. These cans are top of my list.
I was planning on getting these in six months. Just bought m100s 6 weeks ago, x1s yesterday.
My wife is going to kill me! But just found out that these are supposedly no longer being made. But 3 years ago!!!
How is the price still so good? Should I grab them now or wait six months when my wife won't kill me if I wait to buy these.
