Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm Thread

Do they change the sound a lot? Are they comfortable?

They create a little more space between the drivers and your ears, plus, they are angled. This to me gives the DT770 space and the soundstage seems wider. I also think the sub bass reaches a tiny bit deeper. They are extremely comfortable!

I just installed my Xonar DG again for my DT-770 Pro 80's Sound quality is pretty much the same as onboard but I needed the amp because they were too quiet sometimes.

I also need to replace the earpads, mine are getting gross and falling apart after a lot of cleanings.

I have the exact same marks on the outside as yours do. The ones (white/gray) on the inside does not exist on mine though. I guess there is nothing to worry about as long as they work as they are supposed to :)

yeah mine are 2 months old and have the same marks except for the one that is white.  its probably how they joined the plastic with the metal.  mine even came with a couple of pin point size blemishes on the metal brackets itself.  Nothing to worry about.  Now go enjoy these fantastic phones.

I've been thinking about trying to get another set of these sometime soon and seems like their price went up from the  last time I bought them... where is the best place to scoop these cans nowadays.

Thanks!

best bet would be amazon, when they have it at the lowest price, or ebay, ranges from $170+.  if you have a local b&m that carries them you can try to have them price match.

I guess I'll have to check out Guitar Center or something... otherwise its ebay I suppose. Would any other cans in do the job similarly for the same price range?

If you are patient, the price should drop again to ~$155 again in time.

Similarly as good headphones?  Shure SRH840, Sennheiser HD380pro, audio-technica ATH-M50x, and M-Audio HDH50.  Sennheiser HD7 DJ or AKG K545 are quite worth it if you save up more.  All superb headphones in my opinion.  They all have varying strengths, but HD7 and K545 are a little more sonically advantaged.
