Beyerdynamic DT770 Pro 80-Ohm Thread

You are spot on about the signature ........but I did find the 770 to be a wonderful addition to anybody's collection  (At least mine)

EarCup's feel cheap ? (You mean ear pads ?) I think the open cans just differ in Bezel density

Yeah meant the pads they are a lot stiffer than the dt990s, sort of feels like they took beanbag material and put it inside a dt990 pad.

And oh god, I tried putting on DT990 pads on the DT770........it was awful.

Starting to like the headphones, guess just takes a while of getting used to, unlike the DT990 where I liked it immediately.

Yeah .....but still they are super comfortable
I think you'll like them , its just a matter of time .......I always had bad luck with Beyer , I was going to get the 880 but ended up with a HE-300  after that it was time for the 990 (got the Brainwavz HM5) so finally a Beyer in the collection is making me real happy

Not to mention  all the closed headphones I owned  suffered from grain so I am really enjoying the signature :)

Well yeah they are comfortable just feels sort of weird when you first put them on.

Hmm now I'm wondering how the Beyer Custom Ones sound in comparison to the DT770s/990ss

So as far as audio quality, the best sounding (without a high quality amp) is going to be 80 OHM or so for the beyers? How about the 990? What would be the best for them? Because at the moment I am planning on purchasing an E17 to power the headphones I get if need be so I believe that will work with anything under 120 OHM or so?

How do I make the DT770s less bright.  Some parts of vocals are just ear piercing.

anyone got a cheap (under 100USD) headphone amp+dac recommendation for these. Having a tough time. :frowning2:

No Fiio units please I've got a bad feeling about those.

I would just look up reviews. I haven't own either of them, I just know that people really like what they make and that my experience with Fiio products has been very good.

Do any of you wear glasses? I just got the 32 ohm version and it's killing me. The pads push the ends of My frames into my head behind my ear. They hurt more than the ath-m50 and v moda m100.

The 770s are the stiffest, then the 880s are softer and the 990s are the softest. They're intended for the headphone model they come on.

Actually the 880 and 990 use the same pads.

EDT 990 V = silver velours for 880/990
EDT 990 VB = black velours for 880/990

EDT 770 V = silver velours for 770
EDT 770 VB = black velours for 770
