Since the headphones are more rectangular, do the aftermarket oval pads have any fitting issues? I'm debating if I should just grab the DT100 pads or ZMF BE pads.

Get the DT100 velour pads. I've tried a dozen or so pads (listed above) and the DT 100 without the foam pieces installed are my pick.

Guys, do I need to screw to screw in all the way in the cable to secure it, or just around 60% of the way down? I’m getting stronger bass in the right channel than the left, could this be because I screwed the screw all the way down, and thus loosing the sealed connection?

I just got my own DT150 for $80, very pleased, but they do need some TLC. One thing I notice with mine is that the cups slide up and down the arms very easily, such that's it's pretty difficult to keep them from dropping to full extension and not really fitting properly. What would I do to tighten this?

I sold my Beyer 770 the other week and I've been kicking myself about that lately and missing them, like, why did I ever sell those, they were so fun. And then I remembered, oh yeah! I sold them because I bought the DT150! Popped them on tonight and remembered that this is basically the DT770 but without its major faults. Just lovin' it.

These seem to add the intensity of pleather with the mid bass control of the dt100 velours, and they’re comfy.
Running them balanced is also rather lovely!
A simple felt lining in the cups hasn’t hurt either.

I think 2 times more quiet than ATH-50 and way better sound and with mods even amazing.

Concerned about efficiency - will a little portable DAP drive them to a good healthy level? - which it can with the ATH M50's.
I'm aware that their ability to reduce ambient noise is superior to that of the A-T's, and I would not be interested in buying the Beyer cans if it were not for many favorable comments about their sound quality.
But I'll have to pass on the DT-150 if I can't get a good, clean, effortless sound level out of my Astell-Kern AK-120. (output Level L: 1.5Vrms + R: 1.5Vrms).

Update: I've had the chance to try the DT100 velour pads, and without the foam pieces installed, these are now my recommendation for the DT 150. They retain the stock sound most closely with similar levels of isolation, but with a much better perception of air and openness.

One thing I dislike about the DT150 is that the headband is really narrow and thus really bad about making hotspots on the top of my head and getting very uncomfortable pretty quickly and needing almost constant readjustment. But the other day I realized that the $25 price tag on Dekoni nuggets is for a pack of four, not just two like the Amazon product page lead me to believe. $25 for two nuggets seemed insane so I never considered them before, but $25 for four is much more reasonable, so I picked up a pack for my DT150. And I can confirm, the nuggets completely transform the comfort of this headphone. Can wear this headphone without issue for hours and hours now.

Added bonus, I assume it's just an issue with my particular DT150, but the cups are very loose on the yokes and always slide down to full extension. That used to be too much extension and they wouldn't sit right on my ears. Previously I had gaffer tape wrapped around the bottom inch or so of each yoke so the cups could only slide down to the beginning of the tape rather than the end of the yoke. It was a fine solution for me, but adding the Dekoni nuggets to the headband added an inch or so to where it sits, which means now with the tape removed again and the cups at full extension, it fits perfectly.

So yeah, the Dekoni nugs are a huge comfort upgrade for this headphone. If you have comfort issues like I did, I very much recommend them.
