Hi everyone

Im looking for the best cans available for rock and metal.

I currently own the MS2i but I want to go even higher up the chain in owning the bst phones for this genre of music.

Any ideas.

I been looking at the Audeze lcd-2, Grado GS-1000, Beyers Tesla, AKG Q701, and the hifman range.

I enjoy a good soundstage and appreciate good detail.

Suggestions please.

Can you get to a meet to try the different headphones? That is the best way to know if something fits your expectations. I feel both the LCD and the HE are winners. Both have different needs for amping though.

K701/702s are pretty boring for metal...too neutral and lack any sort of impact.

the GS1000 made me vomit blood, I hated them. the RS-2/i/1/i are for lack of a better word METALAS****!!!! they are perfect for metal and almost any other gener I have tried with them*mettal/bass head with classical*

Audio-Technica W5000.

Please tell me you were joking... the W-5000 had all the energy of somebody half heatedly sighing into my ears, but no bass and un-involving midrange and a pretty sharp*but not exciting* high end. I lol'd when the man working at 32ohm told us they had to mark them down to sell.
