heh ya the JR call in thing should be made a sticky or something :) . they easily knock off $100-150 of a lot of headphones no haggling required. in fact a few weeks after i ordered my d2000's they had a further $15 off for july 4th weekend or something . $184 is an insane price for them .

What, what's up with that. In europe we have to pay like £230+ / 250+ EUR (under normal circumstances with tax etc included this would corresspond to aprox $300 USD) for this headphone.

I have to disagree with you putting the SRH840 as a basshead model. The SRH750 was a much better option, it's really bass-oriented. Still a pretty good read

Not a bad guide, but I do have a few quibbles.  I also agree that the SRH-750DJ should be there instead of the SRH-840, which is closer to neutral.  The XB-700 has historically been available around $80, so it should be a bracket down.  The Pro 900, on the other hand, is a great deal at $300-$350, but there's no way you're gonna find it for $200-$250 unless you buy used.  Same issue with the HD-650, which you'll typically find more in the $350-$400 range.  And if money is no issue, you'd want the LCD-3, not the LCD-2.

Man nothing gets past you guys

I adjusted it a bit, but I'm hesitant to switch out the lcd-2 with the lcd-3 because I've never heard it myself.

It's actually a great concise guide for someone who doesn't care about FR graphs, big words, impe-dance (is that like a new cub move?) and all that. I would post it on my FB wall, but I want to keep people from knowing what a sound geek I am. Also I am lucky enough not to have many Beats-wearing friends, so I don't have many people to convert.

I know you haven't been on for 2 months, but when you do log in again, will you have the M-Audio Q40 review ready?
Dying for it.

NVM:
The Q40 seems to a bit too bulky coming from IEM's... I think I will go for something like the Pro700MK2's instead...
Unless they are THAT good, that the bulkyness would be worth the sound.

Edit:
GAH! The pro700mk2's are supposedly not suitable for anything but DJ's... Especially with my (trans) portable needs, coming from IEM's...

I am tempted to just blow everything off on LP Crossfades.. This audiophile business is quite hard...

Yeah sorry about this I have been really busy with my other guides I haven't paid as much attention to this one. There are actually four more pairs of headphones I need to add to this guide, I used to add about one a month and i'll try and get back to that.
