How is the Ath-A2000x different from the ATH-A900Ti? Im comparing the specs and it looks like the magnets in the drivers are the only things different (pamenjuru vs. nedymium). Anyone compared the two?

Sorry, I never heard the ATH-A900TI. I love my ATH-A2000X. They are better than my speaker setup. Except my multichannel configuration.

I ended up getting the A1000X to try. They are, compared to my HD-600s, very bright, but with about a day on them, are a fairly relaxing pair of headphones. I never thought I'd say it of a pair of headphones, but I wish they clamped a bit tighter so as to bring out a tad more bass.

Why? I own the W5000 (woodies), but I still prefer the A2000X. First: because my ears told me. Technical? I don’t know. Maybe it’s the titanium. On the internet, another reviewer said:

Corps A2000X entirely of titanium, which gives the maximum fine, or, as the producer, the ideal sound.

Remember a long burn-in period for the ATH-A2000X. After a couple of weeks I had a growling double bass in my Beethoven Symphonies.

How is isolation in the sense of leaking sound out ?
I need closed phones for use in bed with the wife sleeping so no leakage is acceptable meaning that my LA2000 dont cut it.

I asked my wife. The leakage is minimal. At 1 meter distance she listened carefully. She could hear something. I played a pop song loudly. At 2 meters she couldn’t hear anything.

I wouldn’t say the A2000X has more bass than the W5000. The A2000X sounds less coloured, so the bass has more definition.
In my opinion (and listening to classical music) the HD650 has to much bass. For graph’s (A2000X and L3000) see http://www.head-fi.org/forums/f4/aud...ml#post5705167

What about its treble? Soft or hard?

In my setup the treble is just right. It’s depending of the used interconnect. Silver or silver plated interconnects made the sound a little harder.

and what about the midrange is it forward or laidback?

Nor forward nor laidback, it’s the best of my headphone inventory. (ATH-A2000X, ATH-W5000, K701, GS1000, RS2, K271)
