Audeze LCD-2 Orthos

The Ultrasone Edition 10 would have been a gem in terms of comfort. If not for its distinct sound signature it would be my keeper. Now, once I sell it I will get some ED8. I still miss the comfort ED10. Not even my SR009's comfort level can match the ED10. And whenever I switch back from my SR009 to LCD2...  ah-hem...

Btw, which version of ED8 sounds best? Or are they all the same in terms of sound quality?

Burn-in update: On a steady diet of pink noise, my LCD-2 rev2 is gradually becoming smoother and smoother sounding. There's perhaps 23-24 hours total play time on it now and I'm looking forward to experiencing the refinements as time progresses.

Pink noise?!  Challenge those cans with Reggae burn in!

I suggest to take ED 8 LE, because they choose the best match pairs from their Drivers.
I had owned, because the Singapore Ultrasone Dealer  has very bad Customer Service, i returned to the store in Sinagpore.
i miss the sound from Ultrasone ED 8 LE
Cheers

Dear Windsor

The Best Burn In way : You buy very cheap radio compo, and take the peak noise from the Radio Station.
Let this Radio Compo burn in for you the all days long.( Normally i let burn in 1 week long )
This way i do for cheap and effective burn in effect with normal Hear Volume max 13 o'clock.

I hope this can help every body to do burn in process for Headphones

Cheers

I agree, I still have both (rev 1 and hd800) and never went back on hd800, but when watching movies, I use the dual line out from BCL, and my girlfriend stays with hd800. Not being audiophile (her) she does agree that lcd2 has much more realism than hd800, as I do agree.

Not offended as an owner of both. Agree. However, as I've said many times; the ratio forum:real world = 10:1.

Nope. We where at least two. I had the K702, HD800 and the LCD-2 R1, and after a long time-out I sold the HD800 and sticked to the R1s. Simply because it is better. IMHO. I kept the K702 since it gives me 80% of the HD800 for just 20% of the price...Quote:

What do you think of them with your electronic collection?

I'm still not sure electronic is the LCD-2's strong point.

that is great question, to which i am not sure yet.

see the thing is , the first word that comes to mind for the lcd's are forgiving.  And forgiving is not really needed for electronic because it is made by a machine.  But some electronic music has organic parts that people record and mix together with machine music to create a new sound, lcd's might apply there.

The synth bass which is what i crave in my music a lot, is detailed on the lcd's , but softened. First impressions, lcd's are like denon d9000s

lcd's are real sounding, and electronic music for the most part isn't supposed to sound real, it's supposed to sound electronic.

my pro 900s do synth bass like no other, i never get sick of it.  (wonder what the edition 8's do...)

...thats not to say i won't listen to dubstep on lcd's, they bring a soundstage to it that is extremely enjoyable.

if your not sure what synth bass is....
