Anyone attend Canjam Socal and preview the Cavalli Liquid Carbon?  It goes on sale for a limited production run tomorrow at $599.  It's rated at 1500Mw output.  Will that drive the LCD-2f adequately?

The LCDs literally need only a few mW to reach painful volume. 1500 mW will blow out your ears and probably the membrane on the headphones.

The drivers are supposed to be able to handle 15 W for up to 200 ms, according to the manufacturer specs. That's a peak of nearly 143 dB based on the new 101 dB/mW sensitivity spec. Anyone got a speaker tap?

I was working on an amp board while listening....accidentally shorted an output transistor with the cans on my head.....was as loud as a gunshot at an indoor shooting range. Both the cans and my ears survived. Certainly don't want to do that agin, but yes, I believe the cans are capable of 140db plus.

Powerwise, abso-freaking-lutely. It's a powerhouse of an amp. It's a pretty forward, aggressive sound, I'm told, so I hope you're okay with that.

Just got my LCD-X yesterday. Had upgraded from a pre-fazor LCD-2.2. Initial listening seems to confirm much of what I had read about the LCD-X. Gonna give it a few more weeks, then perhaps I'll do a brief comparison with the LCD2 (from memory though, as I have sold and shipped out the LCD2).

They updated driver material, added new tech... it still competes. The market is just more saturated now because of their initial success. Buy used if you want, no shame there!

A lot of headphones have been released the past 5 years. You guys still think this is a good buy? I'm eying my first high/summit -fi headphone.

I just purchased the LCD 2.2F about 3 months ago. I couldn't be happier. No regrets.
