Thanks for the replies everyone, I went with Toxic Cables Silver Poison with a Neutrik gold XLR with a nylon sleeve. I studied some EE, so I know about wire capacitance, resistance, etc. Wires do seem largely snake oil, but either way I need a cable with an XLR termination and I got my LCD 2.2F's used, so I don't feel too bad about investing in some badass cables ^_^

Silver Poison goes very nicely with the LCD-2.2F.

I asked Frank which of his DiY conductors would be best for a headphone like the LCD-2, if I wanted to maintain most of the warmth, but increase clarity, and he directed me to the Silver Poison.

After I built the thing, it sounded a little dry at first, but quickly grew on me. Now I love it.

I'd need to see what Frank is offering lately. I haven't built anything out of his wires in a long time.  I'm probably due.

Silver Cable needs a burn in about 70 hours . Mine sounded harsh at the begining . A bit less at 30 hours.
Silver poison is the best of the buck

My Lohb comfort strap came in, and it has totally changed the way the LCD2 fits on my head. It feels like a regular pair of headphones now, and the weight is evenly distributed on my head. Highly recommended upgrade from me (LCD2 user since 2013)

Agreed, the Lohb strap is essential. I've had mine on both my LCD2's since shortly after I got the first pair.

So bamboo will be more sort after?  don't think so but its a personal preference as to wood type.

Agreed that the Wood is a personal choice (like sound signatures). The only LCD-2 look that I didn't like was the Aluminum one. I like the Shedua or the Rosewood the best though, the Bamboo looks a bit less refined IMHO.

Agree that its a personal choice, but..

almost every LCD2 reviewer on Youtube/ reviews the Bamboo version. So it seemed like Bamboo is a popular choice, and now that Audeze seems to be discontinuing it which is strange

Also, i have read somewhere that Bamboo is lot more robust than the conventional woods.

I actually like Aluminum look and specifically looked for one, also don't have to deal with cracking wood. Dry weather in SoCal.
