I have a problem installing Spotify in my SR15... After copying the APK into the service folder, when I tried to install in the SR15 menu -> service, it says Parse error - There was a problem parsing the package.
This is with Spotify version 8.5.17.676
Tried downloaded an older version of Spotify apk but I still get the same parsing error.
I downloaded the latest 2.13 Tidal version and I managed to install but not spotify…
Btw, now there is 2 Tidal app in the menu -> service? One is the pre-installed 1.8 version Tidal while the other is the latest 2.13 Tidal. Doesn't the older Tidal gets updated? Why is there a separate Tidal 2.13?
Ok managed to install Spotify from another apk website. The one in apkpure apparently is corrupted?
But still wanna find out is it normal to have 2 Tidal apps in the SR15 when I installed the latest Tidal to "update"?
1 is the pre-installed version which can't be deleted together with Deezer while the other is the updated Tidal which can be deleted
Yes that's normal. The built-in Tidal app is different than the side loaded app. The built-in one was made specifically for A&K players, but doesn't support downloads/offline (due to contractual reasons). The side loaded one is the regular Android app, which enables downloads/offline.
While on the topic, @JasonNYC, is it possible to have the native Tidal app have access to the "Mixes For You" section that generates curated playlists based on your listening on the Android/iOS apps? That's really the only reason I use the side loaded application when I just want to listen to background music while working (then downloads while I'm not connected to Wi-Fi).
Curious if anyone has their SR15 connected to a Tesla? I have a Model 3 on order and it supports USB connectivity (and Bluetooth) but though it would be pretty great if my collection were to appear as a standard option so to speak. I could never get my unit to show itself in our 2017 Mercedes, but figured there might be some hope with a more modern approach to the telematic and entertainment system.

Thanks for the info! Have you noticed any differences btw using both apps aside from the offline/download? E.g. better stability/more fluid UI, less buggy, etc?

No meaningful differences from a sound quality or stability perspective for me personally (there was one version of the Android app a few months back that caused massive stuttering issues, but that was an issue with that particular release, once they updated it a few days later it went away). I like the UI better on the native app (cleaner/less cluttered, more fluid), but the Android app has curation and downloads/offline. Probably 70% of my listening time is during work where I'm not critically listening, so I generally use the Android app because of the curation.
I have a question on playlist/now playing management:
How to clear the currently playing que?
If I have been playing a selected playlist, and then want to switch to a different playlist, how do I do it?
When I select a different playlist to play it ADDs it to the previous playlist in the que.
So, how do I clear the que so that it will only contain the songs from the next playlist I select.
The (out of date) manual is silent on this topic.
jdmoorman, to clear Now Playing list you should press Edit button, then Select All button, then Delete button and confirm you decision by pressing DELETE.
I don't use Playlists, but probably they have similar logic.
YouTube cannot be sideloaded as it requires a number of Google Play Store options to be installed on the device. YouTube will be available via our V-Link system that will be embedded into the firmware in a future update. Currently estimating the feature to be available starting with the SP2000 in September with other models coming at a later date to be announced soon.
