Astell&Kern AK380

Mmm......@ultrainferno posted a screencap of an AK FB post showing an AK DAP streaming Tidal. Backread a bit. It is the most definitive confirmation to date that Tidal is on the way for AK users. Once it arrives, I am dumping my Onkyo DPX1 and Sony ZX2 (my current Tidal devices). If it is true that it will happen in the next firmware update, it will be hugely welcomed.

No. That is not saying that Tidal is coming in the next firmware upgrade as you speculated.

All it means is that Tidal will be coming at some indeterminate point in the future. Where does Jude (not even A&K) say that the next firmware update will have Tidal support? I think I must have missed it.

Just wait a week...

I received my new open box full warranty AK380 copper and I'm very pleased, especially after paying so much less for it (2600usd). Listening to Chesky's Ultimate Headphone disc is amazing.

Hi I would like to know if I can play, M4P, M4A and MP4 files in any of AK players. I notice these files sometimes good sound quality and are available in utube. These can be played on a computer.

Your reply is appreciated. Thank you.

I recently became a proud owner of AK70 player.

FLAC mainly - and I usually rip/download FLAC.

Yes, this was my intention also - all that I've read about FLAC suggests it is truly lossless - but some say you'd be better off with a lesser DAP if only listening to FLAC.

Having never listened to WAV, AIFF or DSD, can you really hear a difference and, if so, is it worth the larger files?
