Well, I have decided to sell my BT-W5 on eBay. I again compared it to the T10P and the T10P is just the better product for my needs and in my opinion. SQ is superior due to the ability to switch to aptX HD (for receivers that don't fair well with aptX Adaptive) and the generally higher aptX Adaptive Bitrates which is even more important than sample rate.
Funny enough: when using my H95s, its latency is worse with aptX Adaptive than with aptX HD in combination with the T10P. I think the H95 is not very well implemented for use with aptX Adaptive. Using it via aptX HD + T10P gives me almost 0 latency, like with BT-W5 in LL mode but with a much better SQ.

FYI: when using both the T10P and the BT-W5 neighter of them could exceed 48kHz with Qudelix 5k. I think that the receiver also needs to be capable of 96khz, which is part of the later aptX Adaptive revisions. There seems to be multiple versions of the standard. More found here: https://www.reddit.com/r/Android/comments/sa0x2e/psa_not_all_aptx_adaptive_products_are_the_same/

My T9 also has bigger latency in aptx adaptive than aptx hd for sennheiser momentum 4

Received BT-W5 today and generally enjoying it. Range and connection stability seems superior to KB9P. As far as I can tell I am still only getting 24 / 48 to Focal Bathys and FiiO BTR7 receivers, but sound quality is excellent. NO CRACKLING!

One bit of strangeness compared to KB9P is that it is much louder...I have to keep the volume slider down at 25 or so using Bathys whereas with KB9P it was generally around 50-60. I tried using the EQ preamp in creative app. to set to a negative 6 but the EQ has no effect...clearly not communicating to the device. I'm not a big EQ guy anyway, so not a dealbreaker., but clearly the app. is not fully matured.

The other 2 things I don't like compared to KB9P are:
-You can't disconnect an active device using the the app., instead you need to push the physical button on dongle.
-Seems a bit less consistent when a call comes in allowing headset to switch to a paired phone, still working on resolving this. It works if I use Focal/Naim app. to assure Bathys is connected to phone BEFORE connecting the dongle, but that wasn't necessary with KB9P. Any tips welcomed.

These quibbles aside, the better range and equivalent or superior sound quality will probably keep me using BT-W5 over KB9P.

I would leave the volume at 100% till the last device in the chain even on Optical.

EQ and rest of those settings all worked on my BT-W4, but I did not leave enabled just messing about.

I know there is some bug with the current App/Driver for the BT-W5, but I am feeling too lazy to type it up for Creative Sub on Reddit, I did PM Colin, but he told me to post in public. plus, I know their support is lacking so no doubt a waste of time.

Adjusting Volume on Bathys DOES also adjust BT-W5 volume slider (and Win 11 system volume) simultaneously. They don't function independently to allow one to be set to 100% without the other, and setting either to 100% would blow my precious ears out.

Possibly the world‘s first aptX Lossless IEM earhooks (based on QCC3071):

IMG-0331.jpg

Chinese brand: Dream&Old

Available in both 0.78 pin and MMCX

Snapdragon Sound

Codecs: AAC, aptX, aptX HD, aptX Adaptive, aptX Lossless (also mentions LE Audio as noted as supported by QCC3071)

Battery Life: 12-15hrs

Charge separately with USB-C.

Haven't seen on Ali yet.

I just bought T10P and I can say it's good!
Better than KB8P (that I also have).
I bought another tiny antenna too, so it can be more "dongle".

On AliExpress there's a IEM with qcc3071.
There's the URL:
https://a.aliexpress.com/_mPp4wBa

And for something to be marketed as "LE Audio", it must have LC3 codec.
Bluetooth SIG and Fraunhofer won't give the LE Audio logo if it doesn't have LC3 codec. It's mandatory.

Thanks for your feedback. About the "Optimize aptx adaptive for:"

Low Latency or High Quality

do you catch any difference at all or it's just "marketing" ?

It is a different bitrate and latency on Sennheiser momentum 4 in low latency mode I had~80ms and on high I had ~400ms. It's hard to say about the sound because I listen mainly to Spotify and don't hear any differences here.

400ms under aptX Adaptive just because it's set on "high quality" looks wrong to me. Are you sure you was not using aptX HD ?

Sennheiser app report aptx adaptive codec. I tested a few dongle aptx adaptive and I got a range between 80ms to 400ms... On t9 and bt-w5 hq mode got the highest (around 350-400ms). bt-w5 ll got the lowest ~80ms. For bt-w4, varolo kb9p and btd 600 and one other no-name Chinese dongle got around 100ms. In my opinion, momentum 4 has high latency compared to e.g. earfun air pro 3. Earfun has an average of 30-50ms less than Sennheiser

Which Sennheiser app? I tried Smart Control from Android and it doesn't see BTD600.

Anyone know why BT-W5 and K9BP sound much quieter than BTD600? W5 is the quietest. Connected to S23 and jvc fw1kt / ath-twx9 with aptx adaptive. Only BTD600 can reach the same volume that I can reach with these tws iems when connected to my phone directly (through plain aptx).
