I get around 300ms and in the low latency mode 165ms, aptX LL would be even lower and I can test that with my other devices later.
Tested on Sennheiser momentum 4

kb9p:
adaptive ll and hd (similar results) ~ 120ms
t9:
aptx hd ~150ms
aptx adaptive ~350ms

bt in my motherbord:
a2dp driver aptx and aptx hd ~ 250ms
sbc ~ 220ms

senhaiser btd 600
aptx adaptive ~95ms

My feelings:
kb9p the lowest latency. (not noticeable)
between aptx hd on t9 and my motherboard similar delay on my ears. (almost not noticeable)
t9 aptx adaptive very noticeable delay

I'm noticing a crackling sound / distortion intermittently with my KB9P output to either BT speakers of BT HP. It can be present for several hours then disappear for the next several hours. Wondering:

1. Is this interference from another device?
2. if so, what should I try to resolve it?
3. Would a Class 1 BT device like Creative BT-W5 be less prone to this?

Thanks for any suggestions!
I have just received my BT-W5 coming from the BT-W4 and am using it in combination with my H95, Qudelix 5k and M1 MacBook Air + PS5. I have noticed this intermediate crackling also with both the BT-W4 and BT-W5. Maybe the new FW update for the BT-W5 fixes the issue? The Mac app doesn't show an update though....

Has anyone else experienced cracking noises when using the BT-W5 via aptX Adaptive?

I have no crackling at all when using the H95 via aptX HD and the Qudelix 5k via LDAC with my old Pixel 2XL running an Android 13 Custom Rom.

I just ordered a BT-W5, expect delivery in 7-10 days to U.S. Excited to see if it's range and performance exceed that of my KB9P.

Seems like I am not able to update my BT-W5 :-/ The Mac app does not show an update. My old Macbook 2012 running Windows 11 in Bootcamp shows the update, but after installing it I am still on the same old version and its prompting me again to install the update....
In its current state, the BT-W5 is unusable for me as it's making those sporadic crackling noises.

You are limited to 24/48 output with the BT-W4 (QCC3056) so may as well get the BT-W5 (QCC????) for the small difference in price (wait on deals) and you get the Low Latency Mode in addition to aptX HD.

If all you are listening to CD rips so 16/44.1 then it will not matter but the KB9P (QCC3040) for some reason (Firmware oversight) is missing 16/44.1 so less than ideal.

As being answer BT 5.3 chipset it may get additional feature in future FW but knowing Creative probably not.

Nobody but you can answer that once you hear both.

I did say wait on deal, they are both on sale right now and have an addition 10% off via a bank holiday voucher (UK store).

BT4 = £35.99

BT5 = £44.99

So yes, almost a 1/3 higher but it's not like a device costing £1000 vs £1333, it is £9 more.
