Can I make my DAC magic Xs work on my One plus one?????

Have you tried it ??
I've just purchased a DacMagic XS but could only get it to work on my phones ( Moto G 5" 2nd gen & Sony Xperia Z Ultra ) with either UAPP or HibyMusic and then I had to set the XS to USB 2. Can't get it to work properly with my Samsung 10.1 Pro Tablet as there is noise in the background both natively and via UAPP.

Hello, fanoble, I understand you work with the Hiby developers. I have a question for them, will the app function with Cyanogenmod CM.11?

I have a Ainol novo spark 9 tablet with CM11 and Hibymusic working well with it. The Spark9 tablet doesn't have USB audio feature with stock rom.
(tested with Hifimediy U2 async DAC and Hifimediy UD80 FDA amplifier : these two use the same USB receiver chip, a Savitech SA9023)

You need your device to be USB OTG but you also need the rom supports USB audio. usually they write it in the rom's specifications.
CM11 doesn't always support USB audio, it depends on the device and the specific CM11 implementation.

Sry for my english

I saw this +port device on Kickstarter earlier, Would it offer any solutions to certain OTG issues users experience with their devices?

+port allows you to power your mobile device and use USB devices at the same time.  https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1094775787/port-power-usb-at-the-same-time/posts

"Most tablets and phones allow you to charge them or plug in a device, but not both at the same time. The +port allows you to charge your tablet PC* or smartphone* while also using USB devices at the same time.

According to the USB Battery Charging 1.2 specification, a compliant USB OTG/ACA-Y cable can charge a USB OTG/ACA-capable Android device while also using USB DAC at the same time.

For the time being, USB OTG/ACA is not yet recommended by Google, and some Android device maker like Samsung doesn't quite follow the USB specification and uses non-compliant value of the resistor R:

It's a USB sensor.

64.9K ohm resistor

"These resistors were custom made for the Samsung USB OTG+Charging Y-cable. If you're fabricating your own version of Samsung-compatible OTG+Charging Y-cables, this is the resistor you need.

These are 64.9k ohm, axial-lead, 1/8W, +/- 1% resistors, in a typical taped strip."

Thanks for the explanation. Sorry its of no use, I just saw it but not being fully conversant with the issues or having a need for an external DAC, I hadn't read into it properly.

I think you mean that the hardware volume keys of your Android 5.0 Lollipop-powered Nexus 5 can modify the volume of the active audio stream of a generic music player (stock music player, Neutron, Poweramp, ...) when driving your FiiO E7.

If it is the case or when the hardware volume keys of your FiiO E7 can control the volume of your headphones, the amp of your phone is not used.

Thank you for your answer DanBa.
Indeed, I can control the volume with the hardware volume keys of the Nexus 5 and the volume keys of the FiiO E7. This is quite confusing. Because when I use volume keys of the phone, the volume displayed on the DAC is not changing, just on the phone.

If the amp of the phone is not used I don't understand how the volume key of the phone can control it.

To have the best sound, should I let max volume on the phone and use the volume keys of the E7 to manage volume ?

The volume keys of the phone are not the volume keys of the internal amp of the phone.

The so-called volume keys of the phone are handled by software.
They can be used to take a photo.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.beyondweb.rocker.free

For (digitally analog or digitally digital) volume control purposes, the volume keys of the phone can be manipulated (or not) by the Android system software, or by the music player software, or by a combination of Android system software & music player software.

In short, yes!

I have a bit of a dilemma and I'm hoping someone can give advice.

Up until now I've been using an UD110 + C&C BH + RockIt R50 on my nexus 5.
Gotta say the UD110, although better than the built-in DAC, hasn't been all that impressive from a sound quality perspective; it is now broken (3,5mm socket came off) and I'm looking into a replacement.

Here's what I've nailed it down to:

Keep the C&C BH and get
1) a UD120
2) an HiFimeDIY Sabre U2 Async
3) some other DAC

or get rid of the BH and get
4) an audioquest dragonfly 1.2
5) a Geek Out 450
6) an HRT microStreamer
7) a Teac HA-P50

What do you suggest?
