ive been out of the loop for a while.

but i got a dragonfly dac v1.2 and i want to use it with my galaxy s3(using neutron or whatever other music player). i do have an otg cable but as far as i can tell, it is not the id pin grounded version.

my question is, where can i get the otg id pin grounded cable? i would prefer getting it from amazon (more flexible shipment address deliver options).

tia.

I'm afraid that if the s3 works as the note 2 you have to buy the uapp: maybe the cable is fine, it's just the wrong player. I've bought from Amazon 2 different otg cables, one cheap from China, broken at the arrival, changed by the seller with another that lasted a week, then another one branded startech, still using it everyday.

Would you still have that link to the star tech cable so I'm sure I'm getting what has worked for you?

I was poking fun, didn't you notice the smiley? :D As much as you might want to, I'm sure that you're not going to buy every DAC in sight.

The DragonFly's onboard 64-position analog-domain volume is a good feature : how are you sure that the OS or the player (in the case of UAPP) correctly uses the USB audio class 1 protocole ? Are you sure that the analog volume control is initiated and it is not a division in the PCM audio stream ?

(sry for my english)

A post about the USB OTG adapter / USB OTG adapter cable for the DragonFly:

I had no problem with your question with smiley or not smiley.

I took this opportunity to remind people that almost all devices I report on this thread are not mine: more details can be found or asked by following the link to the source of the reporting information.

Hmmm... in French we way: on ne peut être sûr de rien - you cannot be sure of anything. Also technological miracles must be questionned.

I am just repeating what I read about volume control.

Now, I also observe that the volume of applications other than UAPP are automatically set to the max when the DF is connected, so I suppose that volume is managed by a two way transfer like the control transfer and not the one way isochronous transfer used by audio data. With UAPP, I must use the volume slider of the application; since the system volume (the rocking switch on the side of my S5) is disabled, I suppose that the slider controls actually the system volume.

Yet this is only a guess. Informations are welcome...!

Anyone did a comparison between sabre from hifmediy and stoner acoustics? I bought the sabre for android from hifmediy but is only 16bits, really changed the quality sound if my smartphone, so i want to go to next level, the 24bits dac... Which is better and works on android with uapp?

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00B4GGW5Q/ref=cm_sw_su_dp?tag=headfiorg-20

or am i reading it wrong that both startech 5inch and adapter would work?

I guess they have to be grounded to be considered OTG, not really into this things, I simply put them on, they work, voila'.

I've got the 5 inch thingy only because at the time the shorter adapter wasn't available, I've just placed the order for the adapter, it should arrive soon and hopefully give to my portable set up a better look.
