Does there exist a DAC (preferably RCA)... with built-in OTG... and charging for the phone?

So instead of..... Phone > Y-cable OTG + w/ powered hub > DAC > reciever
It is simply...... Phone > powered DAC > receiver

?
thanks in advanced,
sorry if this is a noob-like question.

Had switched from Xperia Z to Note 3 specifically because of the USB placement and its annoying FLAPs.

Sent from my Samsung Note 3 using Tapatalk Pro

Switched from Samsung Galaxy S3 to Xperia Z1 specifically for the unique ability to charge the phone while using the USB DAC! LOL )

But I agree - flaps are a little... well... annoying! :)

Just flashed the stock 5.0 factory image on my Nexus 5, and my old Icon Mobile is working beautifully with OTG cable.  So the promised USB audio support in 5.0 seems good as advertised to me.

Also, Lollipop is pretty damn sexy.

EDIT: Having the DAC plugged in makes a very noticeable dent on the battery life though--in my battery history chart, it's clear when the DAC was plugged in, and today was the first day I've ever had to top off my battery at work.  Now that feature to turn off USB charging on the E17 looks a lot more appealing...

I understand that lollipop (5.0) will not play hi-rez files (it resamples), but does anyone know if 16/44 files will play on nexus with android 5.0 and GeekOut dac?

So far, UAPP and geekout dac don't play nice together and this could be a short term solution for me.
If not, maybe it is time to sell my geekout :frowning2:
I've had it since summer, know it works with a windows PC, but that is not how I listen to music.

I'm not sure if this is the right place, but I would just like to report that CEntrance DACport (the one with the AMP, not LX) is fully compatable with Samsung Galaxy Note 4.

I tested it with both UAPP and the pre-installed, stock music app, as well two games: Dodonpachi Ressurrection and Love Live! School Idol Festival.
Switching between UAPP and other apps is a little finicky, the DACport must be unplugged and replugged a few times till it works. I think this has something to do with the DACport being stuck on either 24bit or 16bit mode once it's powered on, and must be powered off and back on again to switch the mode.

Another source of power is not required, the note 4 by itself can power the DACport by itself.
Although connecting an external battery is probably a good idea anyway as the DACport's class-A AMP is very draining.
I found that, with the Y OTG cable, half of the power was coming from the battery and half was coming from the phone, so I plugged another Y cable (for external hard drives that require extra power) after that, not sure if this will work, but hopefully now my phone's only supplying 1/3 of the power.

some technical information
Note 4: Quad-core version, not Rooted, Nova Launcher Prime, Developer option enabled, using ART runtime (also tested with Dalvik, both works)
DACport: stock, normal, not the 1 ohm modded version
External Battery: Anker 2nd Gen Astro E5 16000mAh
Headphones tested (not sure if this is relevant): Beyerdynamic DT1350 facelift version, AKG K702 65th Anniversary Edition

... I don't currently have a way to take pictures without my phone, so you'll have to make do with my masterpiece drawing.

p.s. the Note 4 is also compatable with the Zero DAC if anyone's interested.

In an email exchange with AudioQuest , regarding my half-volume issue with the note3> otg> DF v1.0 , AudioQuest is releasing a dac next year , specifically designed for smartphones. I figured I'd let people know in this thread.
It was also started that the reason for half-volume issue , is that the phone lacks enough power output to run the DFv1.0 properly. So I asked if a powered hub would correct the problem. It was stated that as long as it had USB audio support , I should be fine.
Can anyone recommend a powered hub? Thanks in advance.

Stoner Acoustics UD110 ver 2 works with my Moto G, iPad Mini and Mac, draws power from the host over USB, outputs via 3.5mm stereo jack.

Can anyone explain why when running my Lenovo Android tablet (4.4.4) and playing 16/44 files via Onkyo or VLC apps that the light on my Microstreamer shows 44khz?  When I use my Moto G (2014) I get 48khz with same files?

Does anyone also know if running a DLNA control point and renderer like BubbleUPNP on an Adnroid phone with a compatible dac will allow for native file sample rates up to the limit of the dac?

I use BubbleUPnP and can confirm that it will play WAV lossless & Flac, as well as all lossy bitrates in the normal codecs such as MP3, AAC, Ogg Vorbis etc. I have recently purchased a iFi Nano iDSD dac and I just downloaded a test 24 bit, 192kHz file and it played that on my tablet ( file on phone ). However, I have a few DSD tracks which were free downloads and Bubble does not ' see ' those so presumably does not recognise such files as music/media files. So I think the real limitation is what Bubble recognises . ( Can't help with your first question, I'm afraid ).

Thanks for your input. I finally got bubble (free vers) to recognize minimserver and tried to play a 44k .aiff file on my 4.4.4 kikat phone with external DAC. No go!

It will play a wav file but not aiff. I am wondering if lollipop will support .aiff with bubble? Could it be that the free version is limited with some lossless formats?

It is a bit frustrating since all my files are aiff. And UAPP does not seem to be glitch free on anything above 44k on either android devices in my house.
