Anyone compared the hifimediy Android dac to Stoner or similar priced dac's? Having trouble deciding which to go for (with Samsung Galaxy S3). A lot of new products showcased on this thread but not much in the way of hands on or comparisons.

A US$100 Android One phone: Spice Dream Uno
http://gadgetstouse.com/full-reviews/spice-dream-uno-review/25182
http://googleblog.blogspot.fr/2014/09/for-next-five-billion-android-one.html
It supports OTG: it is very likely compatible with the high resolution audio-capable USB Audio Player PRO.
It runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and is upgradeable to Android L: it will have a native USB audio feature.
Could be the ideal low priced DAP when coupled with a DAC. Unfortunately not available for the western market.

Another interoperability report here:
Sony Xperia Z1 Compact (Stock ROM, unrooted) ->generic USB OTG cable -> MyST DAC 1866 Ocu V2 -> various serious cans (AT ATH-W1000 Grandioso, Ultrasone Edition 8, Beyer T1p, Philips Fidelio X1
Sorry, the link is all in Russian. MyST is a Russian brand specializing in some very nicely engineered head-fi gear, including desktop and portable amps and DAC/Amp combos, the most interesting of which is the 1866 OCU based on Analog Devices AD1866 pure single-bit R2-R non-oversampling DAC.

We'll have to see the computing power in real-life audio applications. I already tried some "low-proced DAP from a phone" thing, so far - no good...

There's stable offer of 128Gb SanDisk MicroSD at US Amazon at around USD110 (tax excluded):

I don't know if anyone tried this pairing already, but Moto G and FiiO E17 "work" together. Together they're about 400€. Maybe less in North America. Very good value for money, I think. Only problem is that the audio is pretty much broken. It sounds very choppy.
Maybe this can be fixed on the software side of things? Maybe someone here could enlighten me.

I've got the Moto G and the E17 and it works completely fine with 24/48

There are two Sandisk 128 GB microSDXC cards available now, one with "up to 30 MB/s" read speed, and the new one that's "up to 46 MB/s" read speed. Either should be fine, but the price is similar on the US Amazon site so I ordered the new one for my FiiO X5 and will keep the 64 GB in my Note 3.
New:

This might be why there are price drops showing up, depending on the source.

Is there something that has to be enabled in settings? I plugged in the df, but no sound when i played music?
You're right, looks like it depends on the DAC cause my Total Bithead works fine with any app/player but my Fiio X5 only works with UAPP.

Dragonfly on Samsung Galaxy S5 most unstable
Dragonfly 1.2
Samsung Galaxy S5 with Android 4.4.2
Micro to USB OTG cable from Hama, both 2.0 and 3.0
Apps: TuneIn, Spotify, UAPP and various specialized radio and videocasts
IE Grado Gr10, Grado R1, Koss Porta Pro
Symptom: sometimes it works (very fine) but mostly the sound is 'broken' and low sounding, as from a tape played much slower than normal.
Sometimes it helps to restart the smartphone, but not always. Sometimes, 3-4 restarts (with Dragonfly plugge in or after restart) remain unsuccessfull.
Dragonfly works fine on workstation.
Keybord works fine wiht OTG cable on phone.
Notifications:
- pluging OTG cable into phone, short notification USB connected
- pluging keybord into OTG cable: steady notification keybord connected (small symbol in status line)
- pluging Dragonfly into OTG cable: no notification
- pluging Dragonfly and OTG cable together into phone: short notification USB connected
Color of the Dragonfly while connecting: green for half a second then magenta.
Just now, after so much pluging in and out, works just fine with all mentioned apps, although the Dragonfly does still not appear in the notification bar. Success is just unpredictalbe and happens too seldom...
My hypothesis: the Dragonfly recognizes the GS5 as 24/92 capable and expects upsampled files, which the phone does not always deliver.
My expectation: that the Dragonfly waits for the file to settle to a standard (and internal clock). A configuration menu for the phone output would aslo introduce some flexibility.
Does somebody have an idea, how I could increase chances that the setup works as soon as I plug the DAC into the phone?
Reto
P.S. Reading this forum was already very helpful. Thanks to all.

I used S5 > UAPP > USB > FIIo 6 > behringer uca202.
Should I use ViperFX or the stock music thing?
Do you mean the UCA202 > E6?
