Thanks for the links - I like the look of your rig !

As for Android L working natively with USB dacs - I'll believe that when I see ( or hear ) it

I read in this thread that a guy with Nexus 5 or Nexus 7 (can't remember which one) and Android L preview could use the nano iDSD without the UAPP app. Still with some sound glichtes, but hopefully fixed with final Android L.

I ordered the hifime Sabre Android DAC about 2 weeks ago, then we left on vacation. I got back Saturday and picked up our mail and there it was in a little bubble pack. Very tiny. No instructions. I plugged it into my Samsung Galaxy S3 USB and then into the jack on my upstairs system and ...

Wow - there's the BASS, man. Much better detail and a soundstage and transparency than the standard earphone jack on the phone. I had to turn it down because it puts out a lot more gain. I'm also guessing that it will improve a bit as it breaks in but it does indeed sound damn great right now after about 1/2 hour. No idea how it might compare to a real DAC on the downstairs (main) system, or to some of the others mentioned herr - maybe some day in the future, but this is a no brainer for $30. If you have an Android phone and want to play the music on it without breaking the bank then seriously just buy this. True plug and play.

I can confirm that my beloved Fiio E07K works with my LG Optimus G Pro over USB OTG!  I'm on Android rev. 4.4.2 and I got the USB OTG cable from Micro Center for $3.  Although there is no feedback that a DAC is plugged in, all audio player apps use the DAC appropriately and it is a truly plug-and-play combination.  I've had no issues after several weeks of use.

The E07K massively improves the sound quality, because the HO of the LG Optimus G Pro tends to be pretty harsh.  The HO of the Optimus G Pro is not terribly flat in the treble region, and I suspect that analysis would show a lot of undesirable harmonics as well, though no one has published any objective analysis of the phone that are sufficiently comprehensive to be any more than a guess on my part.  What I can say, however, is that I have RE-400's and Incipio F-38's (re-branded Fischer Audio FA-004's at less than $50), and both sound far better to me through the E07K, than the phone's HO no matter what audio player app I use.

However, I did find that there are fairly stark differences in sound quality and overall sonic characteristics based on the audio player software even through the external USB DAC.  In my trials, the only audio player software that sounded consistently better than the LG default player was USB Audio Player Pro.  I purchased it after uninstalling the trial, because UAPP>USB OTG>E07K sounds identical to how the E07K sounds as a USB DAC on a Windows box!  Due to that single fact, it was well worth my $10!  Unfortunately, while the E07K DAC proved to be universal with USB OTG, no other audio player app exhibited this characteristic (Neutron, stock player, noozy, Fusion).  Also, Neutron had clipping issues that made it really annoying to use.  I resolved those issues by activating the AGP and rumble protection, but I still don't think that should have been necessary when using the E07K, so I dumped it before the trial period was up.  Just to be clear: I did not choose UAPP because of compatibility problems because I've had none, rather, I chose UAPP because it sounded the best.  Of course, UAPP also has the benefit of not being restricted to Redbook bit-depth and frequency (not relevant to me since I only own Redbook quality source material).

do you hear any interference from your phone, through your e18 with your setup when no audio is playing?

EDIT: just realize that you may be reposting it from G+
