I don't know if this has been answered and I don't have the patience to sift through 88 pages but can the liberators be plastic? I found some that are the perfect size but are plastic not wood. Also do you just use hot glue to attach them?
You can use tape, glue, bluetac to attach them. It's up to you if you want to make it a permanent or reversible mod.
Plastic HAS been done before(I think), but wood is the most preferred way. Someone named the plastic or I think it was PVC pipe? mod called the MS-100 mod I believe. But the pads were not the Salad bowls, so I have no idea what it'll be like

Anybody have an opinion on if the aluminum set on jaben would sound good. You would probably have to drill the 3 holes and attach some dampening in the aluminum, but other than that do you think they would sound asgood as a wood set?
^ IMO I don't believe in different materials for distancers. Perhaps if you don't dampen the inner side of the distancers, then yes, they could well make a difference. However, I strongly prefer distancers with felt in them. With felt installed the chosen material should not matter all that much.
