so i recently sold off my rs1i rig to return to the simple fun of my modded sr60, and i've always wanted to try out making an ms1000. where's the best place to get distancers nowadays?

apatn, would you mind making me a set? how much would they run? thanks

Tried the MS-1Ki and absolutely loved it. The improvements noted were all there in their spacious, refined glory. Unfortunately, a friend of mine was in need of a pair of MS-1i's and with my HF-2's in greater use, I had to oblige. So now my jumbo pads and distancers sit in a cupboard. Until next time...

I haven't finished them just yet but now that I think of it I still have a prototype laying around. It has all the right specs but the 'lip' is just a little too big and needs some grinding.
Ehm, about the price. We will work something out. I'll shoot you a PM.

I'm posting this here because I was on my way to building ms1000s.
While recabling my ms1 (the cables were old and the jack was dead), the transducers signal wire got "ripped" out, so basically I have a dead "side" or headphone on my hands, incoming gs1000 pads that I've already paid for, new cables.
So if anyone has maybe a pair of broken ms1s I could buy off or a driver lying around....
I'll be building some distancers out of pvc tubing, I could make an extra pair to trade, throw in for someone who can help.

I've seen that, I was actually following instructions over there to recable. Thing is that just getting the transducer out is a big hassle, and it's actually even more difficult than he suggests. I'm a decent DIYer, but I'm no electronic surgeon.
