Indeed.
This will probably be my reaction upon seeing regular K702s in the box:
Gotta love the throat rips! Anybody hungry for some Celery?
When I requested that they send out a new replacement headphone, I could tell they would have just sent me a regular K702 if I hadn't said anything else. They were a little confused when I pointed out that they made TWO different K702s, and I had to clarify several times that they needed to send out a K702 Anniversary Edition as the replacement, NOT a regular K702.
Even AKG's own people can't keep track of all the different K70x!!
The treble on the Annie is considerably tamer than the HE-400 in the treble by a long stretch.. If you mean upper mids, then perhaps, as the HE-400 is quite recessed in the upper mids, while the Annie is forward in that area.
Yeah, female vocals tend to hit upper mids quite a bit.
I think you just need to adjust, and play them a little lower. Dont compare directly until youve used the Annies for about a week. You have to acclimate your ears to the change. The HE 400 has a dip in female vocals, so comparing them is kind of moot, as they are just too different in presentation.
