Hello, recently i have wanted to upgrade my headphones. I currently own Shure 750DJs (not a fan of the comfort) and I did own the ad700s for a short time (LOVED THEM) but had to return them due to size.

Ok, so I use my headphones at home (rx-v667 as a headphone amp) and portable use (most important) with an ipod. So these must be 32 ohms

Me genres are almost everything, but I put emphasis on Hardcore Metal (70% of my listening) (songs from whitechapel, all shall perish, etc.) however i don't want music like (I guess its classic? not sure, search the song Kuro no Liliana ~Melancholia~) to sound lacking or awful, although I can deal if metal sounds much better then classic, as long as classic isnt meh. Trance and electronic music is done at random times, not as often.

Now, the headphones cannot be as big as the ad700s, because of school travel.

My current choice is the MS-1i but before i go ahead and order it, I wanted to hear if anyone else has a better opinion.

Thanks

Heya,

MS1 is great for your needs. But, it's open. You plan on using an open headphone while out? It will be leaking like a sieve...

Very best,

And of course, whether this matters to you, is entirely your own preference. I have very little issue wearing my SR225i's while out and about.

The open design is fine, i brought the ad700s to school once and they were fine. I guess then the only other thing i can ask before ordering them would be is something coming out in the next month or so that I should wait for? around the <150 budget?

Thanks

Nothing worth waiting for, probably has a skull on it and comes in lots of funny colors with some band name attached to it and edition or some such foolishness.

Get the Grados! Or... look at some ES7's maybe. I liked the Grados and the ES series from AT. I liked the isolation of the ES series more. But the Grado was definitely fun to listen to.

Very best,
