Sure, it's an overpriced toy. That's why I've had my pair since May 2009 when they first started shipping and still play with them.  Heck, everything here on head-fi can be called an overpriced toy.  Pair these with a quality source and amp and they can run with the big guys, no worries.

I have both a HD800 and D7000, amongst many other cans. Whether they are overpriced is entirely down to the yard stick that is used to measure that statement. But what I can say is that I have not been able to get anywhere near the same level of musical detail from anything cheaper. For me it was money well spent.
