1964 Ears Adel IEMs

Hey again y'all XD So, I'd like some new cables that are strong and good quality (dont we all) - for my U12s. Clarity and soundstage are what I like more of, the U12s have plenty of bass and mids so I dont need those to be 'amplified' at all. I was looking at the Linum cables because those are in my price range - would anyone suggest any in particular? Are all of the linum cables at least some sort of upgrade over the stock cables?

Linum cable is Litz silver plated copper (spc); will definitely be an upgrade over a stock ofc copper cable.  With Linum, go for BaX.

I got the U12 few days back. Sold the K10U (acrylic) after that.

I also got a U12. It is definitely not a basshead IEM. It produces good quantity and quality bass when it's there in the recording and at other times, stays out of the way. And other frequencies aren't over-shadowed. This is with S1 ADEL module. Looks like the B1 module would be even less bassy. Got to get B1 and the MAM.

The absence of pressure on the ear drum is very noticeable and it is definitely due to ADEL. And even at high volumes there's no pressure in the ears and the sound quality is awesome. This is one good technology.

Totally agree with the above character description of the U12 in terms of bass. Many posts here try to describe the U12 as bass heavy iem, but how you describe it matches my experiences with the U12 with B1.

Anybody using these phones with balanced cables? If so, what source and what cables are you using? If it's been already shared, kindly point me to those links. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Also can anybody post their impressions of using this phone in balanced mode? Source, cables used and the impressions would be nice. I'm considering AK100ii, Onkyo DP-X1 & Luxury & Precision L3 for balanced source. But please include impressions about others sources too (Cayin N5, Lotoo Paw 5000 etc).

  Sos the A12 / U12 really a lot better than the K10?

I wouldn't say a lot better but U12 has better sound stage & imaging. Also bass goes deeper & texture / quality of bass is bit better. I love the K10 treble,I am sensitive to treble & need a very smooth treble in my iem's. U12 treble IMO extends a bit more but has similar smoothness.

That pretty much describes the differences in a nut shell which = Slam dunk for the A12'/U12's.

I don't need the pretty designs.

If you can / can be bothered to import from Japan, you can have a look at the Nobunaga labs series which are i think SPC and cryo treated and given the exchange rate to USD quite reasonable.

Maybe the next time they go on sale, I will pull the plug.  They were in my cart several times last weekend but I wasn't sold on having the local Audiologist do the mold impression even though they are on 64 Audio's list.  I had them do it the first time I tried customs and could never get a good fit.

I guess on the Universal fit, do they have the large or small bore opening?  There really aren't any good pictures on the 64 Audio website.  I really need the small opening rather than the larger one that seems to have become the norm these days.  The large opening doesn't fit at all.

This should help - photos of the U6 + measurements of the length and width => http://www.head-fi.org/products/64-audio-1964-ears-adel-u6/reviews/15885

The bore is on the large side. Slightly smaller than the JVCs and Sennheisers. Definitely larger than the Shures and Westones. The JVC Spiral Dot tips fit slightly loose on the stem. Check out Twister6's and Brooko's review for some pictures:
