Best DACs under $10k?
hmm, i think the emm dac-2 sounds pretty good using asynch USB with RSA alethias digital master USB cable, 256k mp3/apple lossless, and cannot tell difference with battery powered vs. plugged in laptop or using different power schemes in vista. i have not compared much, but if i recall correctly...- BrianS

WOW.. can it get better than this? Got my hardwired Voice (black sheath, black furutech) burned in with Voice XLR to 1/4" adapter from James about 100 hours of playing time. Very professional job when it came back to me, the furutechs are so hot looking and the wood is a nice touch. BTW the...- BrianS

Cary 306 Pro, Esoteric SA-50... are there any other SACD/DAC combos should I be looking at?
I can vouch for emm labs as well. The Upgrade Company modified CDSA-SE is fantastic. I am sure the DAC-2 would be great.- BrianS

My Singlepower Supra Experience - Why mine almost blew up like a Hand Grenade (and yours might too)
My MPX3 uses 3 6CG7 tubes. The caps are shorter than the transformer shell. I think it gets warm to the touch but not hot. This is one of the first generation MPX3's. I may open it up later to see inside.- BrianS

How much would a good rig for the HD800 cost?
my rig will cost about 23k when finished. of course you don't need to spend nearly that much to make them sound good but audio is my passion. i have spent a lot on cables that any rational person probably wouldn't do.- BrianS

Which replacement amp for Singlepower?
300B, readily available both new and NOS. From what I've heard, AD1s are expensive but good sounding and the 307A's are getting harder to find.- BrianS
