$700 for two xlr connectors and a phone plug? If I'd know this beforehand I wouldn't have gotten the Voice hardwired....or maybe not at all.

Ouch! I didn't pay that much for mine, not even near that price, while not cheap.

That Voice cable sure ain't cheap. I decided not to get the Voice balanced-to-single ended adaptor, using when needed a Black Dragon adaptor I have on hand. Maybe a little decrease in SQ, but as I barely ever have to use it, springing for the pricey SAA Voice adaptor just didn't make sense.

i have adapters for some of my bal headphones, but never use them. when i am trying other amps, they are generally also balanced. i would skip the cost.

They surely know how to run a business.

any comparisons of balanced HD800 vs balanced L3000?? thanks

that's a loaded question, as the two headphones sound - quite literally - completely different

hd800 is bright and bass light. however bass has great extension and texture but impact is nothing like a bass can such as l3000.

Are you sure we are talking about the same adapter? I didn't pay near that price either.

I was charged 399$ for my Voice adapter...it should have costed 449$ theoretically but I got a discount as I got quite a lot of stuff from them recently (Power cables, Voice cable). It took a while to get it because of late changes made, could be they realized the price wasn't enough to cover the costs or don't know what else...

Well it depends on which model of Furutech XLR they give you. If they use their top of the line (FM601), they may cost as much as $400.00 just for the two connectors and not counting the 1/4 connector and the cable and labor. If they use the FP701, the cost is reduced by at least half of that.

Mine uses the more expensive FM601 Rhodium variant...the 1/4 one seems to be one of their custom wood ones. No doubt the Furutech are expensive, but they look as if a truck could travel on them without damaging them!

The 601 is very nice and build tough and for 399, it is a very good buy.

It looks like this behaviour isn't the same with all B52s around. I was told about this potential problem by SAA before my adapter shipped and was offered to switch connectors for free in case of problems. With my B52 the connection is noticeably tighter than with my old Equinox for the HD650, but in a way I actually like and far from being a problem. But maybe I was one of the lucky ones...
