I have a Stax SRM-006t driving a pair of SR-404 Sigs and was wondering if the Woo Audio GES is considered a significant upgrade to the Stax amp?

I've recently purchased my first Stax system; (404 / SRM-006t) and absolutely love it (thanks, gilency). I was wondering, however, if there are any mods to the amplifier (aside from tube rolling) that can squeeze out a little more performance?

fellas, i just wanted to say thanks to all for this great thread (and dac). i bought this dac a month or so ago and have been slowly upgrading (and learning)... hopefully a new case and a full-out output cap replacement will be next. here's some shots of my work-in-progress...

The Darkvoice 332 works very well with the HD650... I can only imagine that the 3322 (new version) is even better.

FWIW, I have the Monarchy and absolutely love it.

I've owned both the Darkvoice 336i and the 332 - each with upgraded tubes. IMHO the 332 is a better amp and worth the few extra dollars. The 336i is also a great amp and I would not hesitate to recommend it... but the the difference between the two is easily discernible. Good luck and watch...

I've read a number of threads suggesting to amp the k340 via speaker outs. Any thoughts on how something like the Trends TA-10.1 might perform, particularly, against my Darkvoice 332?

IMHO, the Darkvoice 332 pairs well with the 701s.

I'm in the market for a stand alone DAC and came across a mint condition Monarchy 22C for <$450.00. Is this DAC still competitive in today's market, or should I look for something new in the <$1,200.00 range? BTW, the DAC is going to be used with a Squeezebox v3.

I bought my AKG 701s from them... everything went smooth as silk.

They are currently on Ebay... the price is still low ($12.00), but given my "spilling the beans", who knows where it will land

I am interested in purchasing an AKG K240 Sextett and came across this pair, shown below. It appears to have the six drivers (image 1), yet has gold trim (image 2). Can anyone confirm one way or another whether this is in fact a sextett (and which version it may be)?
