i own a J3 and the standard clip (non-plus) and honestly for bass, theres no comparison. the J3's eq/bbe etc give it a much more lively sound with warmth and bass.   I do love both players but the J3 is the way to go, if budget permits.

Wondering what online stores with reasonable prices for the Shure 840 ear cushion replacements are that ship internationally.   My local headphone store wanted $40AUS for a pair, which is just crazy.

I have used the ES7s as my portable for a while,they are great, appart from not being the most comfortable. I now use them and the AT m50's which are larger, more comfortable, and actually provide isolation depending on where i'm going which you may want to check out?

just recently got my hands on an ipod photo, that needs a new hdd was considering the rockbox plus CF card route dont currently own an amp to go down the ipod route. Wondering if the headphone out is any good? or if its better off just to sell it off to a headfi-er who wants an imod.

Recently had the sound die in 1 ear on my re0's which i hadn't had for very long. When i received the replacement, they were to my surprise.... a 2nd hand pair, which cosmetically looked much older and more abused than the pair i sent in. I was honestly expecting more from the company...

happened to mine... 1 side went soft, then just died, was okay the next day, but then died completely. gave up and sent in for a replacement.

Hi looking for iems for a friend that offer good levels of isolation with the silicone tips. Considering the Shure 102 i think it is? but i hear they sound pretty aweful. its $100 is AUS which (about 90USD) Is there any other budget options with good isolation and sound better for the price?

ok, the decisions have just been made that much harder for me.... D2 - cheaper S9 - almost like an updated D2 minus expansion Clip plus - so tempting... though difficult outside US, and well battery life. and well the touch - has wifi? honestly getting more and more tempted by the S9...

yeh i'm in a similar situation, got about 45gb, and growing. 32 would be enough, If the S9 had the standard mini-usb connector it would be the winner. The one benefit of everyone having ipods is anywhere you go someone is bound to have a cable. And i tend to lose these kinds of things.

price isnt quite as significant a factor, but it does help to be cheaper. Intend to keep it for a while, so dont mind paying a little more. A D2+ with a 32gb card is still less than an ipod touch or a S9 32gb in AUS. I guess its more how does it rate SQ wise, i do like the idea ox...

how is rockbox on it? is there a lot of stability issues/problems?
