Are there flat/neutral headphones for under $150?

Really enjoy my RP-21s. They aren't completely neutral, but I've done many mixes with them and been very satisfied with the results. My only complaint with them is that they are not very potable. If you are planning on carrying headphones around with you, the RP-21s aren't very flexible...

    ES7 vs ATH-M50 vs K81DJS

I've owned the K81DJ's and I thought they were pretty decent. They have a relatively dark sound (recedes mids/highs), but the bass is pretty impressive if you're planning on listening to a lot of bass oriented music. Though there are other headphones in that price range that I think have a more...

    Replaceable Ear Pads (ATH-M50s)

Is it possible to replace the earpads on the ATH-M50s? I was thinking of buying a pair of Beyer Leather pads for them but I have no idea if they will fit the ATH-M50s, or it it’s even possible to replace the earpads at all (like the DT-770s for example.) I don't yet own these headphones, and...

    Audio-Technica: ATH-M50 vs Ultrasone: HFI-580

Thanks a lot Acix, Since I already have RP-21's for studio mixing, I'm not looking for a completely neutral sound with this next purchase. Do you think the HFI-580's (or HFI-550) would provide a deeper & more lively sound than the ATH-M50's? Both of these phones seem to be impressing me...

    Audio-Technica: ATH-M50 vs Ultrasone: HFI-580

Sorry to bump this, but I could really use some suggestions before making my purchasing decision. I'd really appreciate any suggestions or recommendations. Has anyone done a comparison between the RP-21s and the HFI-580s (or any HFI Ultrasones)?

    Audio-Technica: ATH-M50 vs Ultrasone: HFI-580

I'm looking to buy a new pair of closed headphones for portable use around $100-$250. After some research, these two cans look like they would fit my needs really well. The big factor in my decision is the overall SQ, but comfort, build quality and portability are also big issues. I currently...

    Question about DAC functionality

I'm fairly new to headphone amps and was wondering what exactly a dac is capable of. The dac I'm considering is the "Ibasso D2 Boa" and I'm thinking that it may be possible to use this dac as a possible tool for audio production. I'd really appreciate if anyone could help me out with this...

iBasso D2: Boa Review (56K i shall slay thee!)

I was thinking of buying an Ibasso amp to increase the bass quality/quantity of my Zune 80 with RP-21 headphones. Would this amp be a good choice for that or is this the wrong kind of amp for what I'm looking for?

    IEMs for quality bass

Well...the Atrio M8s look like the ones I'll probably buy. They look comfortable, affordable & have great bass. There’s still one thing I'd really like to know though... If sound quality was the only factor, which would sound better overall? The RP-21s with a portable amp to increase the...

Wow, thanks for all the advice. I think I'm starting to lean towards the "Atrio M8s". How's the fit with the M8s? I think I'm going to settle into the $150 range.

    AKG K26P: Worth it?

I agree with the others in this thread. I wasn't impressed with the sound, and the fit was very uncomfortable for me. I'd recommend the AKG: K81-DJs instead. They cost only a little bit more, and you get a much better sound and fit. Plus the sound isolation is very nice.

    IEMs for quality bass

Thanks to the reviews on this website, I'm currently enjoying my RP-21s for home listening and studio work. I really like the neutral sound of the RP-21s when mixing and producing, but I've found that increasing the bass is essential when listening to music. I recently got a "Zune 80" and have...

    IBasso P2 vs T2

I've decided to purchase a portable amp to use with my "Zune 80". Though I love the overall sound of the Zune, there's just not enough bass for my liking while using my "RP-21" headphones. I'm considering the IBasso "P2" and "T2". They are both in my price range ($100-$150), and neither seems...
