Any advice on shifting the pinna gain peak on RAB-32257 from 4k down to 3kHz?

Thank goodness, my coupler isn't broken. Sound card fixed it right up. Measurements are a bit wonky, ear gain seems to have shifted up 1kHz? But otherwise it seems to be fine. Anyways here's my first functional 3-way crossover, 2DD+1BA with no physical damping, only electric crossover: And with...

Right now I'm connecting it to my desktops internal sound card. Tried using a dongle connector but windows doesn't seem to want to recognize it as a microphone.

Heres the collar taken apart: And this is what I tried in order to get a seal, with no result: At this point it must be a broken coupler, right?

I'll get a picture when I get home but yeah, it's the stock coupler from sounds good store. I'm not working with customs though, I'll be working with my own stuff shortly but the graphs posted are an off the shelf truthear zero.

I'm fairly certain it's the coupler itself, the issue is consistent regardless of what earphone is used. I don't think I'm using a conical extension? It's the cylinder that came with the coupler itself. Maybe I should try ordering a new canal extension though.

Having trouble with my 711 clone coupler and looking for some advice. Huge leak below 3k makes it unusable:The problem is non-variable regardless of tips, iems measured, dac or cable. This was not a problem just 6 days ago, pictured here with same input and output devices and settings, measured...

Has anyone measured these black dragon earbuds? I'd really like to know to what degree they actually match up to the susvara

Ooo I don't know how to check any of those things, but you might be right on that front. The larger DD and BA seem fine, but the smaller DD only producing sound(and very quiet sound) below 6kHz might suggest the driver itself is damaged or improperly soldered. Will have to do tests with a fresh...

Yeah I don't think it's the seal. I got a consistent result from 2 different tips as well as by sealing the entire coupler with putty. Those graphs from my first post are what happens when there's a leak, while proper sealing allows it to get *some* sound below 500Hz. I am trying to read...

Alrighty, I've gotten the response out of "something here is clearly broken" territory and into "gold star for effort": I thought the lack of bass was from the bass driver not having a properly vented back cavity, but I saw someone on here say that wider tubing can filter out low end, and all of...

Anyone know what would cause bass leakage after front vent has been covered, and coupler is sealed?(first pic compares against Truthear Zero Red measured with same tips to show that there is a seal, second pic shows just the bass DD, comparison with front vent covered/uncovered.)

Figure I should post what I've done so far here too. End goal is a 1BA mids with 2DD for subbass and treble, but so far I've invested a lot more time into ergonomics and design. Having a lot of fun with it

I have a question about the RAB series. The differences between the 30263/32257/30233 models seems to only be the bass response, is that accurate, or does the venting affect treble/midrange/technical performance as well?

I don't take it out as often since its short cable is so finicky but man the Sony e888 really is great. Maybe the only good staging I've heard on an earbud so far honestly

The demo tour unit for TGXear Desolation Sound came in, my first look at TGX buds, and any earbud at this price. They're pretty good! Fantastic, even. Best resolution on an earbud I've heard so far. Tonally though it's not entirely my cup of tea– a touch too bright and a little shouty. The...

    Earbuds Round-Up

Yeah it just seems odd to put that in the official description without putting up any actual proof especially since we absolutely hear things differently depending on the position of the driver. You'll very often find that people don't like the kinds of bass shelves you get in iems and earbuds...

    Earbuds Round-Up

I really don't understand how you could prove that an earbud has the same tonality as susvara or, given the difference in preferences between in-ear and over-ear earphones, why that would even be desirable

    Earbuds Round-Up

Indeed. Also unlike a stem turbo vent it's capped with a mesh grill, that probably changes things somewhat. I wouldn't be surprised if it has the same effect as a stem vent but in a more compact shape though, my understanding is that you can do the same thing with a speaker's rear volume to...
