SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

I already took out one of the yellow felt sheets from my open back drivers, I will try with both removed (leaving the third glued one of course) but do you guys think there's any risk to the headphones without at least one of those sheets of felt in place to help protect the driver and wiring...

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

(45 ohm open-back configuration) I took the recommendation that someone else posted about modifying the Equalizer APO rock preset, and this is what I have so far. Soundstage is pretty crazy with this, I had to double check the effects to make sure some kind of crossfade wasn't being applied...

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

I'm switching back to the open-back grills and listening that way. The closed cups do sound good with the damping in them, but that setup is even heavier than my LCD-Xs. And honestly, I can prevent sound leakage and get isolation, while still enjoying some of that wonderful planar sound with...

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

I think my previous post came off a bit more negatively than I intended. I will say that the closed-back configuration doesn't...well, it doesn't sound like a closed-back, at least compared to others I've heard. The most direct comparison I can make is my HyperX Cloud Orbits, which are...

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

I'm still working on my own impressions of the Sash Tres 45ohm. I wanted them to be closed back, because I already have Audeze LCD-X (2021 revision). I can tell you with the open back grills, the Tres, at least on first listen, does not make me want to sell my LCD-X...they don't have quite the...

Heavy felt being the material provided with the headphones? Or your own material?

Got mine too. On Ukraine's independence day no less. Slava Ukraine! Listening now.

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

Just got an update that the headphones arrived in the USA. I'm assuming the port is in New York.

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

Wow, 8 days from Ukraine to New York? I'm on day 20 and there hasn't been any tracking update since the 2nd. I'm not worried yet but I'm definitely eager to get my hands on them.

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

My LCD-X with the Audeze leather pads give me that kind of suction cup feeling too. Man, I can't wait to hear the Tres 45ohm when it gets here. I've heard a handful of planars, but the LCD-X is the only "high-end" one. I have the HyperX Cloud Orbit (Audeze Mobius without bluetooth) and I had...

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

My Tres 45ohm are apparently scheduled to ship on Monday! Woohoo! He even said he thinks shipping to the US is ~2-3 weeks. That seems optimistic given the state of the world right now but we'll see!

    Audeze - MM-Series - MM-500

I wonder if that headband is compatible with other LCD series headphones like the LCD-X.

I got the impression that he'll make the foam cut outs according to the options you choose, so if you don't get a pair of additional cups, I don't think the gift box would have a cut out for them.

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

How much sound leakage on the semi-open cups? I originally planned on doing open + semi-open but Sasha convinced me to go closed for my second cups. I really want to run these with a closed or semi-open cup to be honest; I already have Audeze LCD-X and aesthetically, while these are good...

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

Since we're sharing the configuration of our orders, I put an order in for the 45 ohm Tres in the reddish-brown color and shiny finish (so similar to a nice rich mahogany) with open + closed cups and leather + velour pads, the gift box, and a 1.2m cable terminating in 2.5mm balanced.

SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

Anyone have experience with the semi-open cups? A few people have posted about them but unless I missed it, I didn't see any definitive descriptions of how the semi-open cups sound. I'm curious how much they isolate, how the sound stage is, what they sound like, etc. I just put in my deposit...

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

I don't know if this is genius, or ghetto. I bought some of these o-rings from Amazon because they can be used as neck cinches (got the idea from Super* Reviews on YouTube), and of course, having way more than I needed for that purpose, I got the idea to stretch the o-rings over the pad...

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

The hinge that rotates up/down is loose. I did a teardown myself just now and I think you're right, there's no spring or anything. I kinda fixed it so that the right cup is a little looser too, so at least they match. It doesn't really affect the overall operation of the headphone...

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

Yeah, I talked to one person in my neighborhood that does 3D printing and he seemed to be skeptical that he could do a good job with this problem. I think he believes that the little tabs would be a weak point. I'm now waiting on Denon customer support to get back to me, asking if I can just...

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

According to an encompass rep, the pads do *not* come with replacement pad mounting rings. I might be stuck with the double-sided tape idea. :/

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

And also, apparently, the left headphone cup is just a little looser when swiveling up and down compared to the right one. It doesn't really affect the usability but I'm wondering if there's something I could tighten down on the yokes if I took the wood cup off. Anyone have experience with...

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

While I'm waiting on the Denon rep to get back to me RE: the stock pads and whether they come with the mounting ring, another solution I'm thinking of is to cut up a couple plastic lids (similar to the mod someone posted much earlier in this thread to fit pads meant for the older Foster...

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

Thanks for the part number, that will help. But oof...$76? The pads for the D7200 are $62 and the D9200 are $60. :/

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

Denon support emailed me back and referred me to denon.encompass.com, but they don't seem to have any parts for the AH-D5200. :/ I assume the pads from the AH-7200 or AH-9200 would work, if they come with the pad mounting ring, but it's not completely clear to me whether the pads do include...

Denon AH-D5200 (little brother of the AH-D7200)

I recently purchased a used pair of AH-D5200s on reddit, and while I think I like the sound, I'm having a little difficulty with one of the pad mounting rings. I guess due to wear and tear (the previous owner used Dekoni velour pads), one of the pad mounting rings doesn't latch in securely to...
