SASH Deux & Tres; impressive planars from Ukraine

Been listening to my headphones and testing out a few others and I remembered a headphone that sounds very similar to the 45 ohm Tres. That headphone is the Erzetich Phobos V2021. Heaps of similarities in tuning and how music is presented with its soundatage and imaging. I'll try getting my hands on them again to confirm, but I remember loving the Phobos V2021 because how music was presented, the only thing setting me back was the price. But the 45 ohm Tres makes me smile and feel the same way because no other headphone gave me that musical enjoyment 😁

I received my 45 Ohm Sash Tres yesterday. It took only 8 days to ship from Kharkiv to New York. Light speed considering the situation in Ukraine. The blue color turned out really good, mesmerizing even. As for sound, I think it's too early for impressions and conclusions. Just a few notes. I like it so far. The sound is airy and wide. There is a lot of clarity and details. The bass is fine, but it's not for bassheads. The closed cups degrade the sound significantly. Overall, there is room for improvement. I will write a more detailed review after spending some more time with the headphone.

Congrats I got notification that mine went through customs (i assume) in New York yesterday which is also 8 days from when he shipped them. Hopefully they come this week since I'm only 2 hours from the city.

The blue is gorgeous. I personally didn't like closed cups either. But try a low shelf at 70hz of 3 to 4db. It really brings things alive 😊

That really is a NICE blue. Haven't considered this brand much but now am curious.

Velour pads:
80hz low shelf 6db q0.9
6400 peak -2db q2

Leather pads:
80hz low shelf 6db q0.9
4200 peak -1db q2 (takes care of some sibilance from what I feel)
6200 peak -1.5db q2
8400 peak -1.5db q1.41
@Alien HP you can also try out this eq. It really smoothens out just a few little edges with the Tres. @dracynical thank you for this 😊

Yesterday I packed my closed cups with approx 7-8 layers of heavy felt and they sounded suprisingly good. Not done tweaking yet, but it still retains a pretty good soundstage. The cup reverb and the strong V-shape (frequency response) that would be created by the cups (and to little damping) have lessened.

Wow, 8 days from Ukraine to New York? I'm on day 20 and there hasn't been any tracking update since the 2nd. I'm not worried yet but I'm definitely eager to get my hands on them.

Just got an update that the headphones arrived in the USA. I'm assuming the port is in New York.

Heavy felt being the material provided with the headphones? Or your own material?

I got the Diana V2 a couple of days ago and can, in time, give a little comparison, if that’s interesting?
That's a start to gauge things.

im not able to give technical review but ive got some time listening to these as my first planars. these are power hungry as it takes the same volume knob position but on gain level 2 to be as loud as my elex on gain level 1, which is about what it takes to make my 600/650s do the same. these have no business sounding this good for this price. my elex really only have bass/slam as an advantage over these without EQing them IMO. ive never really heard a difference in soundstage until i compared the two on a live album (metallica S&M), its pretty noticeable. HD600 only sound better to me when theyre on my crack with a WE 421a which isnt fair to compare. and my 650 and 58x arent even in the running. i wish i had an OTC tube amp to try these out on. i think i might have to order the 16 ohms, and also get a custom finish to be cool like @Alien HP lol :L3000:

really liking these right now. theyre surprisingly comfortable on my big ass head too. i see what people mean about the suction cup effect though but you kinda get used to it after a bit. sasha sent me an extra pair of rings as a gift so i wanna try some dekoni fenestrated pads on these as i love them on my other headphones.
