I’m using EML 2a3s power tubes but after some test with a lot rectifier my preferences goes for mesa 5u4g, that is a Chinese tube but highly selected. I try eml, kr, Sophia rectifier tube, I think that rectifier tube must be choice in conjunction with the power tubes and personal preference

I tried eml mesh, eat, kr, without any issues. At the moment I’m using takatsuki 300b but I think that this is the definitive setup

I don’t know the specs, but if you listen the two amps side by side v1 sound a little better, headphones used in the test was hd800s and Audeze lcd-2 rosewood 2022

I think that if you find used at a good price is the same, I suggest you to find a v1 because it has a better construction but better output transformer. Remember that you have to spend some money for the right tubes

Try 5u4g kr, I think that the sound is more complete, a better bass and a more rounded treble.

I try superconductor rca cable, this cable are super clean and fluid, very similar to acrolink mexcel that I normally use for my connection.

Some years ago I try to contact Justin for my bhse that need service, and after many mail he replied. I think that the support service is not good. I sell my bhse and I never buy other headamp product in the future. I think that an amplifier with this price will need an adeguate support after sell.

My silver fox doesn’t sound dry, but it depends on the dac you use. Cen grand dac is dry so may be that the combo sound dry
