    Rainbow Foil, Initial impressions

I've tried the rainbow foil stuff, and posted my results on Audioasylum: Quote: I recently received a free sample of Peter Belt's rainbow foil in the mail today, courtesy of an old Greg Weaver column in Soundstage (http://www.soundstage.com/synergize/synergize041999.htm). I tested the...

STAX SR-007 (Omega II) ... A Review After 4 Years Of Ownership

Hey Darth! Great to see you back after so long... Excellent article. I'm going to need some time to digest it. Have you considered submitting this to Stereophile? I think this is a unique article that deserves some exposure!

Shows you would die if cancelled.

The Simpsons are still excellent and I hope they stay on TV. They made something of a comeback in season 14. The Sopranos are one hell of a fantastic show, in my opinion, but I hope they only stay on the air as long as they can keep their artistic integrity. From what I've heard, season 4 was...

    Are you a problem thinker?

-- It started out innocently enough. I began to think at parties now and then to loosen up. Inevitably though, one thought led to another, and soon I was more than just a social thinker. I began to think alone - "to relax," I told myself - but I knew it wasn't true. Thinking became more and...

    Explaining Closed Threads Poll

Quote: If you have a question as to why a thread was closed, why not ask a moderator? But how do you know who closed it? Wouldn't you have to post another thread asking who closed it and why? And even if you knew who closed it, is it elegant to make each person PM the moderator...

    Explaining Closed Threads Poll

Just wanted to gauge community sentiment on the issue.

    Explaining Closed Threads

I think it would be extremely helpful if, before moderators closed threads, they posted a final message explaining why they did so. Just a sentence or two would be enough. It shouldn't matter how inane the thread is -- it's a matter of courtesy. Any chance this could be made standard?

IUMA hunting (independent underground music archive)

Just found this website today. I really like it -- some nice classical pieces. Those two recordings, at least, seem to me to be sparingly done, very clean, very pleasant. Better than a lot of CDs!

Commonly Recommended Headphones - prelim FAQ ideas

Good work. Quote: Maybe I was wrong to even create a rock category. I didn't want there to be much in the way of sonic evaluations, which can be SUBJECTIVE. I completely agree. These types of categories are way too controversial to be stuck in this kind of document. I suggest you...

    Ye Age-Old Sennheiser Debate

Quote: Anyone who have ever listen to the HD600 with the Blockhead would and could never, ever call them veiled. I dunno, I've heard the HD600 on a Blockhead and I would still say it's a touch veiled compared to some of the other top headphones out there. Don't get me wrong, the...

Ordering a new PC, got any advice?

Quote: Clone? Do you mean home-built computer? Sure. Or computer bought from some no-name place. Quote: I built mine myself and I've had ZERO probelms. It's pretty powerful too. Well that's good. I'm sure some of them are problem-free. But in my experience the...

Ordering a new PC, got any advice?

Hey, if I were you I'd get a Dell with some kind of on-service warranty. I haven't seen a powerful clone yet that hasn't had some kind of problem under stress. I've seen clones that close relatives have assembled, that other companies have assembled, you name it. Maybe it's just bad luck, but...

    Your Dream System

If I could have a dream headphone system, I would hire Stax or Sennheiser to *build* me custom headphones, including amp and an ultra-sophisticated DSP system/equalizer. Ditto for the sources. Get a few of the best audiophile engineering companies in the world to build me prototype sources, then...

Who wants Grado HP-1ks brought back?

Quote: but i find it upsetting that it's all the "wrong" people who do which will keep this great headphone from the rest of the world. I think we can agree here. There's evidently a strong demand for this headphone. Grado could probably name its price if it put out a new and improved...
