CHIFI LOVE Thread-A never ending IEM-Heaphones-DAP-Dongles Sound Value Quest
Hey, guys, can you recommend an IEM which would be close in shape and fit to the Westone UM Pro10? I tried Tennmak Piano and KZ ZS5, but their shape did not work. I mostly listen to earbuds because IEMs don't fit (e.g. Urbanfun and **** 2in1s are too heavy for me) but I am currently looking...- headjelly

DIY Earbuds
Hey, is there a way to measure cables separately from measuring earbuds? I have several pairs of old Iriver buds and the cables are simply beautiful, they are thick and soft, so I am trying to use them with my other buds, but I swear that they make the sound much much worse. How can a cable even...- headjelly

I have not heard the V2 and I traded my V3 for the ZEN (well, I gave a friend a V3 and a Blox B160 to get the Zen). I liked the sound of V3, but absolutely hated the stiff red cable:)- headjelly

Ah, ok, got it. I confirm that there is a hollow rivet in the center in the H180 and it is indeed filled with glue.- headjelly

Hey, do you remember the Edimun V2 pictorial recipe? I mean, this one. Did he actually drill a hole in the driver in step 4? Has anobody tried doing that?- headjelly

Best Smartphone for audiophile
Nope, the enhancement was off. I turned the enhancement on and listened to the same track, which improved the soundstage, but made the sound plasticky and really unnatural. I have not played with the EQ. I also tried a more neutral type of earbuds and they sounded much better, but still not...- headjelly

I have tested it today. It's really loud and bassy, but it lacks treble, and soundstage is narrow and congested. I did not like it.- headjelly

So, you soldered two different ground wires to the connector? Is that what everybody does or do people also use three wires (L,R, ground) and then connect two wires to the ground one inside the splitter?- headjelly

Cayin N3 Hi-Res DAP with AKM4490 DAC, apt-X Bluetooth, and Line, USB & Coax Out for $150
I am really happy with the firmware v1 and the synergy with Puresounds ps100-600. Should I upgrade to v1.1? I have seen battery life complaints here, so is there anything which will significantly improve for me if I upgrade?- headjelly

Hey, is there a pocket/portable DAP which you would recommend to portable use with high-impedance earbuds, such as TY650, Puresounds 600 and Yinman 500. I am considering a Caiyn n3, but I am not sure whether it's own amping is powerful enough and I am unwilling to carry a "sandwich" around. I do...- headjelly

I have Yinman 500 and they are awesome. They are currently one of my three favourite earbuds, together with the Blox B320 and Puresounds PS100-600. They are rather easy to drive, however, they do benefit from amping and the silver cable keeps rolling itself in a coil.- headjelly
