Are you saying qp2r, N6ii are significantly warmer than the i5 (for your taste)? And the dx220 is marginally warmer (but acceptably so for your taste)? Do you mean to say the dx220 is too dry or the i5 is dry for your taste?

I guess I was confused on what your response meant. Let me reformulate: If I connect the qp2r via usb to my iPhone, and use it as a DAC only, and connect my dt1770’s to the qp2r, do I get the same sound characteristics as when I play sound files directly from the qp2r with my dt1770’s?

So are you saying that the sound character would be exactly the same if I play my iPhone tracks to my dt1770’s via the dac only?

My very limited in store experience was that they are quite bright on the highs, and very controlled on the lows. I think others mentioned the high bias of beyerdynamics in general before.
