Stax SR-X9000
You might be reading too much into that quote. The novem was originally designed before X9000 was even released? It was designed for "newer stax models". X9000 would certainly fall into that category, but to say it was designed specifically for X9000... :)- nepherte

Stax SR-X9000
Was wondering if any X9000 owner EQ his unit, and if so, with what settings? I find I have good results on my 007A and 009 when applying convolution filters from AutoEQ. If only we had those for X9000....- nepherte

E-Stat Summit: Hifiman Shangri-La vs. Stax SR-X9000 (vs. HFM Shangri-La Junior)
I can be very patient (and persistent) when I want too. One day, my friend, one day... Jumping ship seems unlikely, with me being heavily invested with electrostats already, but I sure do want to hear that Raal setup of yours and admire it from up close. I have this feeling sneaking up on me...- nepherte

I also don’t think that this picture is doctored. Just not sure if what we’re seeing is in fact the production amp as they ship from Viva. The builder could have added his special sauce. Couldn’t agree more.- nepherte

Stax SR-X9000
While I do have concerns about the design, quality and safety of many third-party electrostatic amps, one should be cautious to throw around accusations. It's my understanding that the pictures floating around of the Viva STX are not exactly from I consider to be a trusted source. In fact, they...- nepherte

Odd, cause the BHSE is also an amp that I've been using for over 6+ years. (In case you're wondering, humidity was around 88% last night.) I'm not disagreeing with moisture and humidity possibly damaging your equipment. I'm saying that these stories tend to lead a life of their own. I'll be...- nepherte

There's no way around it when you live near the equator. Also, people seem to get way too worked up about it, without actually ever having lived in such a humid area. I own several electrostatic headphones, from various brands, most of which I own for over 8 years. Maybe I'm just lucky, who knows...- nepherte
