Russian Pop Recommendations

Russian Pop Recommendations
I just found this thread, the videos are very entertaining. I don't understand the words but I like the change of pace from what I usually listen to. I used to listen to Nashe Radio and have one of their compilation CDs which I really liked, but it's about 10 years old now. I think Zemfira was... -
Visiting Scandinavia
I am visiting Norway and later headed off to Sweden. Any suggestions for how to fill what little free time I have (it's a short tour...) Currently I am in Oslo enjoying the rainy weather and later going to Bergen.- cp8ir

San Diego Headphone Meet! 23 April 2011.
Thank you to MrSpeakers and UE for organizing and sponsoring this meet. It was one the first ones where I could spend some quality listening time on some great setups. My only "sadness" is that I still really want to get a pair of Stax Omegas... better start saving up! It was also nice to get to...- cp8ir

Insomnia anyone?
Thanks for your post, Gilency... I never realized DSPS was an actual disorder and not just "laziness".... guess I should do some research. I've had this syndrome 20+ years and it's made school and work difficult to manage!- cp8ir

iPod Battery: The Definitive Word
Any tips or tricks on how to open more than just one side of the IPod (original 3G model)? I can get the first side open, but can't get the first corner to come apart, and then the whole thing seals itself back closed again.- cp8ir

How's the weather in Scotland?
This trip is one of those guided tours... it's a family trip. I think most of the touristy things will be visited including the major cities, but the downside is a lack of free time. I was mainly concerned about dressing properly for the weather... it looks like I'll have to be prepared for...- cp8ir

How's the weather in Scotland?
I'm going to be popping over for a visit next week and thinking of what to pack and expect. I may have to buy the proper attire, considering that it has been ~100F blazing sun where I'm at of late. Will be seeing the tourist traps and big cities, as far north as Isle of Skye and Loch Ness. Thanks!- cp8ir

I will try to stop by as well. I can bring a 1st generation Nano, ALO cotton dock, Rockhopper home Pimeta, and an AKG K501. I have other gear, but it just depends if I decide to pack it up or not.- cp8ir

Bottled Water-Fi
How long can you use one Brita cartridge if you only go through 1 or 2 pitcher-fulls a week? They claim several months, but I felt like I kept getting sick after drinking the water and wondered if my filter was growing something after only a couple of weeks, even in the refrigerator. And the...- cp8ir

Medicine to soothe throat?
I usually use Ibuprofin or Tylenol. If those don't work then it's antibiotics. Lozenges and sprays don't do much for me.- cp8ir

An Accidental Amp Discovery...
I'm using 40+ year old Mac amp and preamp to run my speaker setup. The stuff is built like a tank I guess! My father had it sitting in a closet for years and it still seems to work fine. I haven't had much access to other gear to see where it really rates, so maybe it needs a tune up. It doesn't...- cp8ir

Recommendation for Extended-use, work headphones
x3 for DT250-80... they're on my head at my desk right now. They are closed-back and don't clamp too tight. The velour is comfortable so you might avoid the hair issue. You can get away without an amp if needed. I can still kind of hear my coworkers so they don't speak to me unnoticed. I got...- cp8ir

Pet advice: Small animal with most personality
I've been a guinea pig owner for several years now. The thing is, they require a lot of care (there is no bad smell if you are diligent), a fair bit of space (bigger cages actually require less cleaning), and you would need to get at least 2 since they usually don't do well alone. Mine have lots...- cp8ir
